Summary
Wonderful, Live-aboard, Pilothouse. So much room and known to be a very capable cruiser.
Accommodations
  • The Nauticat 43 has a wonderful spacious interior and an interior helm station in the salon, great for inclement weather conditions. She is both warm and bright below deck with lovely teak cabinetry and large pilothouse windows. Starting forward and working our way aft will describe how she is laid out below;
  • The guest stateroom is forward and has a double V-berth as well as an additional single skipper berth. There is also a quest head with shower aft with hanging lockers opposite to Starboard.
  • Moving aft from the Guest cabin one enters the large Sea Galley to port. Opposite to Starboard is additional counter and storage space for long term cruising.
  • Up a couple of steps and one enters her Main Salon/Pilot house with lower helm station. She has a large, raised, U-shaped dinette to port and table. The table drops to convert the dinette to a large double berth. To Starboard is the helm and nav station. Excellent 360 degree views from all her large windows. Beige colored Ultra-leather fabric for the dinette, teak and holly sole and curtains for privacy when needed. She has a very inviting interior. Aft centerline steps lead to her cockpit and second helm station. Aft to starboard is the walk way to the Aft Master Cabin. The floor in the salon all opens up for easy access to the engine compartment.
  • As one enters the aft cabin you are impressed with the size and comfort. She has a centerline double berth and one step up raised seats on either side for relaxing or easier access to the berth. Here again there are abundant windows all around, and hatch above for excellent light and ventilation. Teak cabinetry throughout and teak and holly sole. To port is a dressing table and plenty of drawer storage. Hanging locker on forward bulkhead that also serves as an additional access door to the engine compartment. To starboard is the master head with separate show stall.
Galley

She is equipped with a U-shaped Sea Galley to port and forward of the main salon. There is plenty of counter and cabinet space for food prep or storage. Lovely glass doors on the upper cabinets on the forward bulkhead add a touch of class and the overhead hatch gives additional light. Opposite the galley on starboard there is a large counter that provides a work area for cooking or projects.

  • Double stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressure fresh water. There is salt water access and an auxiliary freshwater foot pump.
  • 3 burner propane stove with oven and broiler

From the manufacturer
  • "The hull is made of fiberglass with a thickness of at least 5cm without the use of sandwich technologies. The exclusive technology of the hull and superstructure is borrowed from the aviation industry. The hull is equipped with a skeg for the safety of the rudder. The rudder is filled with a homogeneous mixture of fiberglass and polyester for reliability."

  • "She has a hydraulic steering system. Check valves are modified, which allows the halmsman to feel the pressure on the steering wheel when moving."

  • "Rigging design with high safety factor. The mast passes through the deck, which increases the strength of the rigging. The equipment on deck is selected taking into account large workloads."
From the seller

The seller has removed all the teak decking, filled the holes from all the screws, and added a non-skid surface to her deck. He also hired a surveyor to inspect the deck and she was found to be completely dry and sounded well. The assumption is her deck is solid fiberglass and super thick.
