1984 Nantucket 33Sold

**This yacht is in contract pending sea trial June 19.**

A rarely seen masterpiece from designer Peter Cole, the Nantucket Island 33.

Only 31 specimens were built, and owners tend to hold onto them for a long time, which is why they are hardly ever seen listed for sale.

She's one of very few center-cockpit yachts in this size. The boat will likely fit in your 30 foot slip. It's in a 30 slip now. The stern is flush, and the bow pulpit and anchor don't protrude that much. The published hull-length is 32' 3". Adding the bow extremities, then it is likely about 33'.

Her robust build and quality of workmanship are remarkable. She would be well above a $350,000 order if commissioned today. A steady vessel built for ocean cruising.

This is a proper yacht, consistently maintained.

Her gelcoat is polished, varnish smooth and glossy, stainless gleaming.

Encapsulated keel, so no keel bolts to worry about. The keel picture is of the exact same model, but a sistership.

Solid fiberglass, including the deck.

Skeg-hung rudder.

Custom varnished teak and stainless boom gallows. Also has topping lift. Matching boarding ladder for the side gunnel gates.

Stainless steel portlights.

The interior space is incredible. How they included all of this in a 33 footer is amazing.

A huge galley, with ice box, HillerRange stove plus an electric cooktop, loads of storage. Cross-ventilation from 2 opening portlights keeps the galley air clear. A good workspace that is also safe under way.

The salon has beautiful appointments, with teak cabinetry and luxurious upholstery, and multiple portlights framed by nautical alcoves. Convertible settee for a 3rd double berth. There is also a beautiful original table for the salon that goes with the boat. Not pictured.

The forward stateroom includes a double berth, and 2 cabinets with 2 hanging lockers, and multiple drawers. The center piece is removable for standing dressing room. The forward stateroom is being used for storage, with the cushions removed. The cushions do come with the boat, just not pictured.

The aft stateroom is reminiscent of a 40-foot yacht, with a double berth, ample storage, large hanging locker, opening ports, and TV.

Outside, there is an enormous foredeck for deck-lounging, or even setting up a table and chairs for dockside meals and cards. Going aft is the cockpit with custom cushions, sun awning, and teak grate on the sole. Sail controls are led to the cockpit for handling under way. Further aft at the transom is the aft deck, with enough space for a couple of chairs from which to watch the sunset. Also there are boarding gates on both sides straddling the cockpit.

This yacht is in ready-to-sail condition.

Yanmar 30hp diesel, with only 758 hours.

Optional high capacity fuel tank - 75 gallons, for long range and offshore cruising. Mathematically, this works out to an approximate 600-700 mile usable range, plus reserve, on engine alone.
