QUEEN MARY is a lovely Morris Linda 28 that has seen light use and professional care since built. The Morris Linda was designed by Chuck Paine and built by Morris Yachts starting in the mid-80's. She is a very popular design as a small cruising boat with a great feel under sail. A full keel with cutaway forefoot gives both solid tracking in heavier seas as well as nimble handling around the docks. For the past 12 years, QUEEN MARY has been used seasonally in Massachusetts and prior to that time was sailed in Maine and stored indoors each winter. For the last 12 years, Steamboat Wharf Marina in Hull, MA has maintained the boat for the current owner. Anyone in the market for a Linda 28 should seriously consider QUEEN MARY.
The Morris 28 was built with several layout options. QUEEN MARY has the desirable separate head area to port between the forward and main cabins. There are v-berths forward followed by a hanging locker to starboard, opposite the head area. The head features hot and cold pressurized water.
The main cabin has settee berths port and starboard. The port main cabin bulkhead supports a fold-down dining table. On the forward starboard bulkhead is a Force 10 propane cabin heater. Aft of the port berth is a large chart table / counter with storage under, in lieu of a quarter berth. The galley is aft to to starboard.
The cabin is finished in teak and off-white laminate paneling, resulting in a warm and open feeling cabin. 7 bronze framed opening ports and 2 dorade vents add ventilation. 6'1" headroom. All cushions replaced in 2004 with Sandstone Sunbrella covers.
The galley features a two-burner Force 10 propane stove, ice box, and stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water.
