Escapade is a very well cared for masthead sloop designed by Peter Schmidt. The design is known for her wonderful sailing ability and handling in all conditions. She's a Perfect boat for a couple, but will accommodate 5 adults and a kid in two cabins. There is a double forepeak forward with a shelf and opening hatch. Just aft to starboard is the head with hanging locker and across the sink and vanity with linen locker. Both areas can be closed off for privacy in both directions. Aft of the main bulkhead is a full-sized settee which converts to a double. Across is a short seat/berth suitable for a child. A port quarter berth rounds out the sleeping accommodations. There is a table that is stowed against the bulkhead when not in use and drops down to the centerline of the main salon for dinner time or games. The bi-fold leaf can be lowered on one side for access forward without having to completely stow it, which is a great convenience. The galley is L-shaped on the starboard side near the companionway. There is a newer stove with cutting board, top loading ice box and sink. Her interior is trimmed with teak. The cabin sole is fiberglass and the overhead is molded fiberglass. Both easy to clean. The original windows have been replaced with new opening ports, which, along with the two deck hatches and companionway hatch offer tremendous cross ventilation. The interior cushions and cockpit cushions have been recently replaced and the dodger is new. The inboard can be accessed by lifting the companionway stairs away. The self-bailing cockpit is 7' long with a large hatch to the sail locker below located on the starboard side. Beneath the waterline is the lead fin keel and spade rudder. The sails and boat have been regularly services professionally and service records and manuals are available.
