Manufacturer Provided Description

The MasterCraft ProStar 197 features a record-breaking AWSA certified hull, an open bow, standard fuel-injected V-8 engine, and good looks too. In its first year, the ProStar 197 helped set 3 Pro Tour records at the MasterCraft Pro Water Ski Championships, towed Keith St. Onge to a barefoot tricks world record, and received the first all-inclusive AWSA hull approval in history. Its kin, the X-7, also received Powerboat?s 2002 Outstanding Towboat Performance Award. Once and for all proving that an open bow boat can break records and won?t compromise performance. In 2003, the 197 boasts a chrome steering wheel cap, a pylon top, a shifter knob, stainless steel windshield stanchions, and a stainless steel glove box latch. The 197 also has a lockable passenger?s seat that gently contours to securely and comfortably seat two skiers. Above deck, the 197?s bimini and towable boat cover is going strapless and incorporating a ratchet system. Below deck, the boat?s shaft and prop have been converted to a new splined design that allows anyone to easily change a shaft or prop without a key way. The 197 has loads of walk-through room amidship, a flip-out observer?s seat that allows passengers easy access to and from the open bow, and a conveniently located dual-access cooler in the walk-through. There?s even plenty of room for storage, a Clarion CD sound system, and a removable rear bench that converts to a lazy sunpad. The 2003 ProStar 197 will also utilize the coveted 2002 Tournament Team Edition EVO hull, creating dissipating feather soft wakes.
