Designed by renowned Al Mason in 1944 and built by master craftsman Joel J Johnson of Bridgeport, CT, 'Molly Bawn' represents one of the finest early examples of traditional East Coast yacht design.
The Ostkust - Swedish for "East Coast" - was Mason's tribute to Scandinavian folkboat elegance combined with American offshore integrity. Measuring 24', the Ostkust is known for its full keel. Graceful sheer, and impressive seaworthiness - often described as overbuilt for her size and capable beyond her dimensions.
Joel J Johnson was one of the most respected builders of this design producing each hull with hand-crafted care and attention to detail. 'Molly Bawn' stands as a testament to that era of boatbuilding - an authentic example of mid-century yacht design and New England craftsmanship.
