2005 Mainship Pilot 34 Sedan

 The Mainship Pilot 34 has the seakeeping abilities of the lobster boats it has descended from. It has a steep plumb bow and a gentle rise of the sheer; both of these qualities give the Pilot 34 the ability to cut through head seas, while the rounded forward hull sections provide a soft entry. Flatter sections aft increase lift for speed and economy, and the deep full keel with a complete sand shoe gives stability and protection from grounding. In the cockpit, the Pilot 34 features double-wide helm and companion seats flanking the large, hydraulically assisted engine access hatch. The side lounges can double as berths with the removable backrests. A tilt-up console provides easy access to electronics and wiring, and it features a built-in insulated cooler box, as well as a standard transom door. Below, the cabin features a spacious head, complete with a Corian-covered vanity, ample storage, a shower, and even a VacuFlush toilet. The teak-trimmed galley offers ample storage, a generous Corian counter space, a microwave, a dual cooktop, and a refrigerator and freezer. There is even a slide-out pantry for convenience. The large dinette easily converts into a double berth and includes ample storage. A color TV-VCR is standard and is easily viewed from the private forward stateroom, galley, or dinette on its swivel system. Forward in the stateroom, hanging lockers and drawers will swallow gear for the weekend or a month. Extra-long innerspring berths guarantee a great night's sleep.

 The 34 Pilot was first introduced by Mainship in 1999 as a soft top, single engine boat with a contemporary down-east styling. In 2001, a hardtop or sedan model was released which proved to be very popular. A twin engine option was introduced for both models pushing the cruise speed from 14 knots for the single to 18+ knots for the twin. Mainship completely redesigned the running surface of the boat  from a semi-displace to a full-planing hull design. The new modified-V design featured a stubby and wide keel which ends about the area of the shaft logs to  provide for additional directional stability. The chines were modified for more lift and to reduce spray. Running strakes were added in the bow, again to increase lift and reduce spray. The end result is a boat that is efficient and easy to operate. The single engine boats retained the older hull design. Mainship continued to produce both the Pilot and Pilot Sedan. This boat is the limited edition twin engine Rum Runner II model

The cabin is entered through a centerline sliding hatch and down three steps from the spacious cockpit and helm. A large U-shaped dinette is located to starboard which converts double berth. Opposite on port is a fully equipped galley with Corian countertops. Aft of the galley is a roomy head with full fiberglass liner. At the forward end of the salon is  the forward stateroom. The stateroom features a large V-berth with filler and custom mattress.

The two side cockpit seats can be used as two additional single berths while at anchor.
