This MacGregor 26x is located in Middle Tennessee for your viewing pleasure. Wheel steering, open transom access, standup headroom for most including an enclosed head and a huge double berth aft. All in a boat that allows you to sail or take the kids "tubing" under power at 20 mph.
Equipped with a Preferred Honda 50 hp outboard and a CDI rollerfurler she appears to have light use and cosmetically appears to be in better shape than many of the MacGregors of similar age.
Please see the photos that show the exterior and interior. The were taken by a relative of the owner as the owner has unfortunately passed away - - the reason for selling.
A great value for a boat that has limited use from all appearances. Please give us a call and make an appointment to go see this boat.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 1997 MacGregor 26X is a versatile trailerable sailboat known for its unique combination of sailing and powerboating capabilities. Here are some of the pros and cons of this model:
Pros
Dual-purpose design: The 26X can be sailed or powered by its outboard motor, offering flexibility for different water conditions and preferences.
Trailerable: Its size and retractable keel make it easy to trailer and launch, allowing for convenient transportation and storage.
Performance: With a water ballast system and a powerful rig, the 26X delivers good sailing performance for its size, including the ability to plane under power.
Spacious interior: The layout provides comfortable sleeping accommodations for up to four people, along with basic galley and head facilities.
Versatility: Ideal for day sailing, weekend cruising, or exploring inland waterways, making it appealing to a wide range of sailors.
Cons
Water ballast system: While it reduces trailering weight, the water ballast can take time to fill and drain, adding preparation steps before and after sailing.
Build quality: Some owners note that the construction and finish may not be as robust or refined as more traditional sailboats in this size range.
Limited headroom: The cabin headroom is modest, which can feel cramped for taller individuals during extended stays below deck.
Outboard dependency: Performance under power relies heavily on the outboard engine, which requires regular maintenance and can be less efficient in rough conditions.
Sailing complexity: Managing both sailing and power modes may require some learning curve, especially for those new to hybrid sail/powerboats.
Made For
The 1997 MacGregor 26 X is perfect for sailors and adventurers seeking a versatile and affordable boat that combines the ease of trailering with the freedom of cruising. Ideal for small families, couples, or solo sailors, it offers a spacious interior and adaptable design, making it suitable for both day sailing and extended weekend trips.
