The Liberty 49 is an elegant long-distance center cockpit cruising yacht designed by Stan C. Huntingford and built in the tradition of her predecessor, the Liberty 458 at the Shin Fa boat yard in Taiwan. The Liberty 49 at just under 53 feet overall offers a significantly larger interior than the 458 and is able to provide room for the often-requested options for long-distance cruising and living aboard. Only 13 of these much sought after custom yachts were ever made. Windstar is Hull #4 of 13. These rare beauties are tried-and-true bluewater machines that rarely ever hit the market.
Windstar had a complete makeover in 2007 overseen by one of the original builders which included all mechanical and propulsion systems, wiring, plumbing, watermaker, removal of teak decks and replaced with nonskid. The boat has been well loved by the current owners and professionally maintained with additions of an Iverson bimini-dodger with two sets of side panels (clear and sun) creating a total cockpit enclosure, high stainless steel side rails, custom swing out heavy duty stainless steel davits, custom stainless steel and teak fold up side boarding ladder, new standing rigging, flexible solar panels with separate controllers, new Ultra-leather salon upholstery, new Sunbrella cockpit cushions, and a custom HMC master cabin mattress and bedding. WindStar offers ample accommodation with 6'9" headroom, a master cabin with centerline king, and a separate head with shower and bathtub. Second cabin/or den has its own separate head and walk in shower. Repainted with Awlgrip off white and blue stripe to match as-built color.
Experience the joy of sailing with WindStar, where adventure meets comfort on the open sea. WindStar is ready and outfitted to set sail on her next cruising adventure!
