Electric Winch at Helm
Primary and Secondary Winches at Helm for Easy Single Handing
The Morrelli & Melvin designed Leopard 40 was a big step forward from its predecessor, the Leopard 38. In addition to adding two feet in length, they were able to reduce her displacement by 4,000 pounds without compromising structural integrity or stiffness. She performs quite well under sail and points higher than most cruising catamarans.
Thanks to a well-designed helm, Jedicco is easy to single hand. The main sheet and genoa sheets are led to the helm and both the primary and secondary winches are within close reach of the helmsman—even when seated. One of the winches is electric making shorthanded sailing even easier.
Jedicco features a hard top bimini and a one-level cockpit with comfortable seating. She has 4 cabins and 2 heads with separate showers. Her forward cabins have access to additional berths in the forepeaks. She has a new arch, Lithium batteries and solar.
The galley is superb and well-appointed, and the salon is a great area for entertaining or relaxation.
Jedicco has been very successful in multiple Harvest Moon Regattas.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2006 Leopard catamaran offers a range of features that make it a popular choice among sailing enthusiasts. Here are some of the pros and cons to consider when evaluating this model:
Pros
Spacious Interior: The 2006 Leopard is known for its generous living space, accommodating both comfort and functionality. The open layout provides ample room for relaxation and entertaining.
Stability: As a catamaran, the Leopard offers exceptional stability on the water, making it less prone to heeling compared to monohulls. This makes for a smoother sailing experience, especially in choppy conditions.
Performance: Built for cruising, the Leopard's design includes efficient hulls that enhance speed and agility. This makes it a great option for both leisurely sails and more adventurous voyages.
Versatile Layout Options: Depending on the specific model, the Leopard can come with various cabin configurations, which allows owners to choose layouts that best suit their needs, whether they are focusing on family use or chartering.
Robust Construction: The Leopard brand is known for its durability and strong build, which can withstand the rigors of both coastal and offshore sailing.
Excellent Amenities: Many 2006 Leopard models come equipped with modern conveniences such as well-appointed galleys, comfortable seating areas, and good storage options.
Cons
Price Point: As a quality catamaran, the initial purchase price of a Leopard can be considerably higher compared to some monohull options. Potential buyers should factor in their budget and long-term investment.
Maneuverability: While catamarans have many advantages, their wider beam can make them more challenging to maneuver in tight spaces, such as marinas or narrow channels.
Docking and Anchoring: The larger size of the Leopard can complicate docking and anchoring. Adequate planning is needed to ensure safe mooring.
Maintenance Costs: Like all boats, the Leopard requires regular upkeep. However, catamarans can sometimes incur higher maintenance costs due to their size and the complexity of their systems.
Less Speed Under Motor: While they perform well under sail, catamarans like the Leopard may not be as speedy when operated under motor compared to some lighter monohulls. Considering these factors will help potential buyers make a well-informed decision about the 2006 Leopard catamaran, ensuring it aligns with their sailing lifestyle and preferences.
