Overview

The popular Lagoon 380 is one of the best-selling catamarans on the market, with about 1000 built from 2000 to 2019 by Beneteau in Bordeaux, France. These classy catamarans are built for coastal cruising and chartering and are also proven circumnavigators. Lagoon 380s are well-built with both safety and comfort in mind.

This catamaran has had only 2 owners, NEVER chartered, and is in excellent condition. Wylicat is hull number 26, which if you check the reviews, was better built than later models. The Lagoon 380 is a great cruising catamaran that sails better than many other cats and provides lots of living space for the money.

Wylicat is the highly sought after ‘owner’s version’ with three cabins and two heads. The salon and galley were refit in 2020 with new cushions, Corian cocktail table with storage below, new Corian counters, Kenyon Silken 21” induction cooktop, new double-bowl stainless steel sink and faucet, and new Skysol custom window blinds and Dometic roller window covers (blackout and screen) throughout.

The owner’s suite occupies the starboard hull, providing a spacious private cabin with queen berth aft, an en-suite bathroom, desk and ample storage, while two guest cabins and second head and shower in the port hull offer wonderful space for family or friends. Whether relaxing in the spacious cockpit under the soft-top bimini, lounging inside the bright salon, or relaxing on the trampolines, there’s a favorite seat for everyone aboard.

The current owners have enjoyed sailing Wylicat for 6 years and have kept her in great condition with many upgrades and professional engine and operating systems maintenance. This vessel already comes with much of the equipment you need to go cruising including 300 watts of solar, 125-amp inverter/charger and battery bank. The Lagoon 380 has an 80-gallon water tank, and she carries 2, 26-gallon fuel tanks.

Good Value for Money: Compared to other catamarans in its class, the Lagoon 380 is often seen as a cost-effective option, providing excellent features for the price.

Cons

Age Considerations: Being a 2000 model, some Lagoon 380s may require upgrades or maintenance to systems and components that have aged over time.

Limited Performance in Heavy Winds: While generally stable, catamarans like the Lagoon 380 may not perform as well as monohulls in heavy wind conditions due to their flat bottom design.

Draft Limitations: The draft can be a restriction when navigating shallow waters, which may limit access to certain anchorages.

Interior Style: Some may find the interior design and furnishings to feel dated compared to newer models, depending on previous ownership and upgrades.

Resale Value: While the Lagoon brand is well-regarded, the resale market for older models can be competitive, and prices may fluctuate based on condition and upkeep.
