Sea Shanty is a beautiful 2008 44' Krogen Wide Body model and is ready to go to sea. She started her cruising life on the Great Lakes but has cruised from New England to Florida in recent years. The hull, superstructure, and decks are all made from single female vacuum-bagged molds. Cook gelcoat is used on all exterior surfaces. Knytex fiberglass is hand-laid throughout. Below the waterline the hull is solid fiberglass with vinylester resins used in the outer layers. Aramid fiber is incorporated in high-impact areas. Closed-cell PVC core is used above the waterline to add resiliency as well as acoustic and thermal insulation.
The Krogen Pure Full Displacement (PFD) hull form provides exceptional efficiency, economy, and sea handling. Some of the Krogen characteristics include:
- True full-displacement design for sea kindliness and comfort
- A hull form ideally suited for hydraulic stabilization
- End-to-end symmetry making a Krogen the most efficient hull to push through the water, and giving excellent directional stability in following seas
- A full centerline keel with large attached rudder protecting the running gear
The Saloon is entered through double aluminum water-tight doors from the large covered cockpit. To starboard there is a L-shaped settee with a free-standing teak high/low table for dining. To port are two comfortable household Lazy Boy recliners. There is an articulating 32” Samsung Smart TV mid-ship. Abundant fresh air is provided through three sliding windows with screens and a ClearView retractable screen installed on the aft cockpit doors.

Sea Shanty's Master Stateroom is forward to take advantage of natural ventilation while at anchor. The natural ventilation comes from four large opening stainless steel ports and an overhead hatch.
The queen-size centerline berth allows access from both sides and provides voluminous storage underneath. There are hanging lockers port and starboard, and a chest of drawers with additional drawer storage under the berth. There is a large mirror on the wall above the chest of drawers.
The Guest Cabin / Office is on the starboard side immediately aft of the Master Stateroom. There is a desk with drawer and lighted bookshelf as well as a hanging locker. The settee converts to a double berth. There is also a convenient step-through insulated door to the engine room. There is also an additional hatch to the engine room near the galley in case there are guests in the stateroom. There are two large stainless steel opening ports with screens.
The head is to port opposite the Guest Cabin / Office. There is a large stall shower with molded seat, bi-fold door, Sealand VacuFlush fresh water head, two large stainless steel opening ports with screens. A Corian vanity with under-sink storage, large mirrored medicine cabinet, corner storage cabinet completes the head.
Up and forward from the Saloon/Galley area is the raised pilothouse which serves not only as a proper operations center, but also has room for friends and family. The Settee converts to a double berth for guests but can also be used as a watch berth for long passages. A Stidd leather helm chair keeps the captain comfortable as they navigate with an extensive electronics package. There is excellent visibility through multiple windows and portholes.
