2018 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389 - "Eclipse"
with diesel genset installed!
The new boat has arrived and Eclipse is now ready to go! Although she has been used in a sailing club for 7 years, consistent maintenance and care have been maintained so the club members have confidence in her capabilities and performance. The price is indicative of the club usage.
She has a 2 cabin/1 head layout with the large garage storage in the other aft area. She is well equipped with A/C, full galley, electronics, in-mast furling mainsail, electric windlass with anchor and all chain rode.
And she may be the only Jeanneau 389 model with a diesel genset installed!
Now that the replacement boat has arrived and been commissioned, the club owner needs Eclipse to find a new owner. So if you have some plans for this spring, she is ready.
Easy to show in Miami.
From the wide companionway, there is a bright salon with the galley to the starboard and head/shower to port. Continuing forward the dinette and settee are next with the forward v-berth. The engine access is under the companionway stairs with opening ports in both aft cabin spaces.
The large master cabin is on the starboard side aft. It is almost a queen-sized berth. And to port through the head is the storage space with the genset installed.
The dinette is also convertible to an additional berth.
The salon and cabins have a single 16K btu A/C unit located in the dinette area and ducted to all the sleeping areas. It can be operated at anchor utilizing the 110V diesel genset.
The L-shaped galley has a 2 burner propane stove and oven. The 12V fridge is very large and there is also a freezer compartment inside. The double sink is stainless steel with a splash guard and hot/cold water.
Power is supplied by a 30hp Yanmar diesel with a saildrive transmission, It is located conveniently under the companionway stairs with the most common maintenance areas within easy reach. Other access is through panels in the aft cabin and the shower.
The engine has about 3300 hours total due to the club usage. But all maintenance is performed on a regular basis to insure problem free use by the club members.
Electricity to the systems is supplied through the rack of 12V batteries located under the master aft berth. They are kept charged by 1) shore power through the 40A charger, 2) while under power through the 125A alternator on the engine, or 3) from 120V power from the diesel genset.
Shower power comes via 2 x 30A cords. One for house usage and one for the A/C.
The genset is a Northern Lights 6 KW in a sound enclosure. It was installed after market by the club owner for the club members use. It has about 1450 hours.
Navigation and communication comes from the Raymarine suite of electronics. At the starboard helm, there is a p70s Color Autopilot display and to port is a i70 Color MFD. And located on the cockpit table is a Axiom 7 GPS Chartplotter. Wind, direction, speed and depth are monitored by sensors on the mast, in the cabin, and in the hull.
In the cabin, there is a Ray63 VHF radio and a Fusion stereo.
The sailing rig is a Selden mast with inmast furling mainsail. The Selden furler is controled by a continuous line run to the cockpit. The furler may also be controlled by a winch handle if necessary.
The genoa is on a Harken furler with the furling line run to the cockpit. Genoa sheets are controlled on an fairlead car tracks adjustable from the cockpit. And the sheets are run th ethe cockpit to Harken 46 winches.
Mainsheet, main outhaul, and sail halyards are run to the coach roof Harken 3 winches.
The sails have been replaced within the past few years.
The ground tackle is a Lewmar plow anchor with an all chain rode. It uses a manual control at the bow to a Quick 1000W electric windlass.
The transom is a wide opening swim platform with manual lines to extend and retract.
The bimini was recently replaced with an upgrade canvas material.
