Located in a fresh water (non saltwater) environment the J 30 is in reasonable condition and unique with the owner installing full length aluminum genoa track to replace the wood toe rails to eliminate the maintenance job of the teak toe rails. Upgraded to Harken self tailing winches for the cabin top and for the primaries in the cockpit, she has a Schafer rollerfurler to keep that head sail in check and manageable whether single handing or sailing with a crowd. With 3 off shore type opening ports on the cabin top there is good interior ventilation, added to which there replaced/upgraded to a Yanmar 18 hp along with an updated transmission and currently only has 550 hours on this power plant. NO need to replace a diesel for $12,000 or better as this has already been done and ready for years of service.
There are a few areas on the cabin top that have some water intrusion but walking on these areas will not show you this. But there is some work to do there to have her up to snuff.
Good instrumentation included and replaced/reworked not too many moons ago, she even includes a tiller mount autopilot making short handed sailing even better.
So if you are looking for a great club racer that can be sailed right now or just a delightful, fast, nimble enjoyable daysailor/overnighter of high quality sailing characteristics, you may have found your Waterloo.
As for relocation, being located in North Alabama @ the Joe Wheeler State Park you can either motor her by water to Kentucky Lake and finally to the Gulf Coast down the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway or Rooke Sails can assist with a complete turnkey relocation to her new home port as necessary.
