Over the past three years, I have gained an intimate knowledge of every onboard system and have had the honor and privilege to sail Hawkeye in a variety of conditions. • Ballast: 12,000 pounds of fully-encapsulated lead ballast forms a double bottom- no keel bolts to corrode, loosen, or worry about offshore.
• Rudder: Skeg-hung for protection and directional control in heavy conditions.
• Composite materials: Coosa Composite replaces marine plywood for better durability and zero rot.
• Hull Structure: Molded fiberglass structural grid is fully bonded to the hull and bulkheads, forming an incredibly stiff and unified structure.
