"Remedy" is a one-owner Hunter 320 coastal cruiser ideal for a family sailing and has always been a Connecticut boat. The large cockpit has pedestal wheel steering with two fold up tables. Sails include a jib, main and spinnaker w/pole. Her sails are original but sent out to North Sails for service every other year. The traveler is up on the arch and out of the way. Below decks, there is a private stateroom aft with a queen size double berth with two hanging lockers. The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2000 Hunter 320 is a popular mid-sized cruiser known for its comfortable accommodations and ease of handling. Here are some of the key pros and cons of this model:
Pros
Spacious Interior: The Hunter 320 features a well-designed cabin layout with ample headroom and comfortable sleeping arrangements for up to six people, making it ideal for weekend cruising or extended trips.
Innovative B&R Rig: The fractional sloop rig with the B&R rigging system eliminates the need for a backstay, allowing for a larger roach on the mainsail and improved sail performance.
Easy Handling: The boat’s manageable size and responsive helm make it suitable for both novice and experienced sailors, with controls led aft for single or short-handed sailing.
Good Storage: Numerous storage compartments throughout the cabin and cockpit provide ample space for gear and provisions.
Solid Construction: Built with a fiberglass hull and a moderate displacement, the Hunter 320 offers a stable and comfortable ride in a variety of conditions.
Cons
Performance Limitations: While comfortable, the Hunter 320 is not designed as a high-performance racer and may be slower compared to other boats in its class, particularly in light wind conditions.
Limited Upwind Ability: The B&R rig, while innovative, can sometimes result in less efficient upwind sailing compared to traditional rigs.
Engine Access: Some owners note that engine access can be somewhat restricted, making routine maintenance a bit more challenging.
Interior Finish: While functional and comfortable, the interior finish and materials are more utilitarian and may not appeal to those seeking a more luxurious feel.
Cockpit Size: The cockpit is adequate but not overly spacious, which might be a consideration for larger groups or those who prefer more outdoor living space.
