Here is a reasonably clean, spiffy FRESH WATER Hunter 26 ready to go with sternrail seats, outboard and a fair amount of extra gear., Hunter no longer produces the 26/260, but if they did, similarly equipped it would take approximately 65,000 to 75,000 to replace this boat.
As a past Hunter dealer who has sold many of these boats new and used we can possibly advise you as to why the Hunter 26 fits so many people.
A tiller steering boat, she can be handled by a crew of one though there is plenty of room for many others. The enclosed head is a tremendous feature as is the spaciousness of the main cabin and the double aft berth. Many a 1st mate can stand up in the boat, but if you need more headroom the lift top can be raised and accommodate a 6' 5" person easily. The large cockpit features an open transom on the port side of the transom that includes a deep stainless steel ladder with flat steps when in the down position.
Approximately 99/month to 150/month should buy this boat with a modest down payment and due to the 2nd home tax deductibility of the interest and the still reasonable interest rates, NOW is the time to strike. Might even put this boat on your credit card.
NADA shows this boat, without trailer, as of 10.05.2022 to be worth 14,385.00 to 16,480.00 with everything in apple pie condition. This boat is being offered at the low price of 10,000.00 to allow someone to put some sweat equity into the boat. The owner of the boat has begun lots of the spiff up of this boat but his job has limited his time to complete the boat such that she would sell for the 14,500.00 price range. Here's what needs completing;
1) Complete the wiring of the NEW Garmin knotmeter, depthmeter and windspeed/direction units.
2) Buff the fiberglass exterior surfaces - - NOW LOOKING GREAT AS BUFFED IN 12/2024
3) Install new antifouling bottom paint
4) Purchase a new or used Engine cover for the 8 hp Nissan as it was lost in transits on I 40
But with the most critical item having been replaced, the centerboard lift line, there is nothing critical to be done - - mostly cosmetic. Further the owner has had new cushion covers made for the boat and are stored inside his house. AND AS OF Jan 2025, the two opening port side windows have been replaced with new ones.
This is 10,000.00 for the boat WITHOUT A TRAILER as the trailer shown in the add is on a Rooke Sails trailer for storage on our yard. Not to fear however, we can supply you a new trailer or maybe you can find a used trailer *********and make this a great package ready to go. And for that matter if you don't want to buy an new or used trailer for the boat, Rooke Sails can transport the boat to her new home of rational distance and put her in the water for you ready to sail.
