A Flagship Hatteras with a rich history, and way too many upgrades to list. The 2nd owner bought the boat in 1988, and brought it to Southern Wisconsin. It was pampered and serviced meticulously. They had it repainted, and upgraded the canvas, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling Lake Michigan.
It was then purchased by the owner now in March of 2021. They proceeded to put well over $300,000 to make it exactly what they wanted, the nicest 60' Hatteras in the world. He was successful. He labored finding the very best diesel tech In the nation, and flew him up from Florida. Below is some of what he did. He actually flew the tech up the year after to travel from Illinois, to Mackinaw
and back, with many ports in-between. The tech reported no issues in the engine room after a fun excursion.
The owner spent similar time and money on the interior, replacing everything that had a chance of breaking. This goes from the obvious galley appliances to the hardware in the galley, and heads. And if that wasn't enough, he upgraded all the soft goods, and counters, and put in electric shades. Not to let the engine room and living quarters take all the attention, he replaced all the electronics with new Raymarine, and including a camera system on the bridge.
The 1984 60 Convertible was popular because of the 3driving stations, 3 staterooms, expansive cockpit and a very American galley
and salon. It performs in seas you'll never take it out in, and looks as stately as a yacht can look.
Here is some of the work that was done mechanically, just to give you a small taste of what you'll see when you come tour the boat:
