An excerpt from the purchase survey performed by BJ Dunson, CWO3 USCG Retired. MARINE SURVEYOR and CONSULTANT, June 2019:
"The "Tranquility III" is a 1989 Hans Christian 43T cutter rigged sailing vessel, equipped with a v-berth forward, salon/galley and aft port side quarter berth. The Hull is white with red anti fouling bottom. The "Tranquility III" is equipped with the Telstar keel, which features a cutaway forefoot and a cutaway aft of the keel to reportedly help with maneuverability. The hull is manufactured using heavy molded reinforced fiberglass with molded boot top. The deck is reportedly built with a heavy molded fiberglass with insulating core. Bulkheads are made with teak strake overlays bonded to the hull with spacers between the hull and the bulkhead. All trim, hand rails and interior detailing utilizes Burmese teak, which was originally coated with five coats of hand applied rubbed varnish. Scantlings and lay-ups reportedly exceeded the requirements of Lloyds of London specifications. The "Tranquility III" was damaged during Hurricane Michael and is being surveyed after repairs were completed. The repairs were completed by Flat Island Boat Works and Zern Marine. The quality of the repairs was very good.I found the vessel is average to above average condition with the vessel in the process of returning gear to the vessel after a extended yard period and fine tuning."
