This 1997 38' I Etap Sloop is a rare find here in the United States and now available for purchase, located and stored on the hard in Indiantown. This second owner has taken excellent care of her while sailing her throughout Spain's waters, then had her shipped to the Virgin Islands, where they sailed her around the islands, and then shipped her again to South Florida, where she is now being given a new title for her new captain. The flush forward deck is wide open for lounging, and her walk-around side decks were made wide for safe passage. She has very long cockpit settees for sleeping or lounging.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 1997 Etap 38i is a well-regarded cruiser known for its unique design and solid build quality. Here’s a breakdown of its pros and cons:
Pros
Unsinkable Hull: One of the standout features of the Etap 38i is its double-skinned, foam-filled hull, which makes the boat virtually unsinkable and adds a significant safety benefit.
Quality Construction: Built with high-quality materials and craftsmanship, the 38i offers durability and longevity.
Comfortable Interior: The layout is spacious and well-thought-out, providing ample headroom, good ventilation, and comfortable accommodations for extended cruising.
Good Sailing Performance: The boat offers balanced handling and decent performance, making it enjoyable for both coastal cruising and longer passages.
Low Maintenance: The composite construction helps reduce maintenance needs compared to traditional wooden boats.
Modern Design Features: For its time, the 38i included thoughtful design elements such as a well-laid-out cockpit and efficient use of interior space.
Cons
Weight: Due to the foam-filled hull construction, the Etap 38i is slightly heavier than comparable boats, which can impact light wind performance.
Price: When new, it was priced at a premium because of its unique construction and features, which may affect resale value.
Limited Dealer Network: Depending on location, finding parts or specialized service for the Etap brand can be more challenging compared to more common manufacturers.
Interior Style: While functional, some may find the interior styling dated compared to more modern yachts.
Keel Design: The moderate draft keel limits performance somewhat in racing scenarios and may restrict access to very shallow anchorages.
