Summary
Very well maintained Dickerson 37 Tri-cabin. Rated by Ferenc Mate as one of the world's Best Sailboats.
Accommodations
  • There were several interior layouts designed, this particular boat is the Tri-Cabin, featuring the master stateroom aft. Starting forward aft of the chain locker is the guest cabin, here she offers a V-berth with center seat or filler for a bouble berth. Teak ceiling strips on the hull sides add to her warmth as well as the teak cabinetry, and teak and holly sole. there is plenty of light and ventilation from the overhead hatch and opening ports on either side.
  • Next is the main salon. She is bright and warm finished in a Herreshoff interior with white bulkheads, teak trim and teak ceiling strips along with her teak and holly sole. Here too she has an overhead hatch and opening ports on either side for additional light and ventilation. The salon has port and starboard settee's with a bulkhead mounted salon dining table on the forward starboard bulkhead. Open and closed shelving outboard. Aft to port is the U-shaped sea galley. Opposite to strarboard is the fully enclosed head with vainty, head and opening port (this is a wet head). One is able to open the aft cabin to the salon via a door and opening bulkhead window, giving the feeling of a larger more open vessel.
  • The aft cabin or owners stateroom has a double berth to port, centerline companionway to the cockpit and forward facing navigation station to starboard. Opening overhead hatch, companionway and opening ports again offer excellent ventilation.
  • Her interior shows the craftmanship in her teak cabinetry and teak and holly sole throughout. The overhead was replaced with a white laminate and teak battens also adding to her custom feel. Her exterior is very traditional in looks but she has an extended fin keel with a skeg hung rudder making for a modern and quick sailing vessel with traditional good looks. She has fiberglass decks but enough teak trim to give her that old world charm without all the maintenance. This owner has opted to keep the exterior teak natural also keeping the maintenance low but one could sand and varnish the exterior teak and it would make her stand out.
Galley

The tri-cabin has a true U-shaped Sea Galley and offers abundant storage space as well as food prep space due to the location being mid-ships.
