"Gaia" is a Jodel and Vrolijk designed Dehler 47 with vinylester hull, teak decks, deep draft (7'9")and tall rig (75'). It was built for passagemaking and is stiff, fast and sturdy sailing machine that churns through the miles in all weather conditions. The three cabin layout is ideal for a family or for a couple who can use the third cabin as a storage unit. She is currently on the hard in Deltaville, VA, having just returned from winter in the Bahamas. The hull is newly waxed and polished and the bottom is to be painted.
The owners bought her in the Bahamas during COVID and sailed her to Maine, where they outfitted for their cruising requirements. They work on the water, so they understand the importance of maintenance, which has been ongoing (see details) and done to the highest level. It spent 2 winters in the care of Hinckley Yacht Services in Maine.
