Replica Of A 1700s to 1800s Gloucester Fishing Schooner! Residential Fridge/Freezer! Washer/Dryer! Central Vacuum! Generator! Electronics Array!
This 1984 Topsail Gaff-Rigged Pilothouse Schooner is a "custom built" replica of a 1700s to early 1800s Gloucester fishing schooner. She's well-suited for multiple applications including bluewater voyages, coastal cruising, whale watching, charters or as a "live-aboard."
Currently moored in Ensenada, B.C., she sailed from San Diego, CA. The Frank Edmond keel was laid in 1984 and she was splashed in 2005. She was designed and built by Leland Parsons, a shipwright since 1957. The craftmanship and attention to detail is evident throughout.
The schooner's hull is cold molded of 7 layers of 3/8" plywood with the hull's exterior being completely fiber-glassed and the interior is fiber-glassed to the waterline. The Frank Edmond has a 85 HP Ford-Lehman 4-cylinder diesel engine with two PTOs, a specially designed hydraulic drive that turns a 4-blade prop. 25-hp bow and stern thrusters make mooring this large vessel easy.
This 1984 Gloucester fishing schooner replica carries a complement of electronics that includes Raymarine ST60 Wind Speed/Direction, ST60 Speed/Distance Logs, ST-60 Depth Sounder, ST 8002 Autopilot, C120 GPS, C120 Chart Plotter, C120 Radar, I-Com M802 SSB, and a Last Watch II Helmsman Minder.
She features both 110v AC and 12v DC electric service with shore power cord, 3 AGM house batteries, two engine start batteries and a generator start battery. A Northern Lights 5kW diesel generator powers the Frank Edmund when shore power is unavailable.
The Frank Edmund offers plenty of comfort and convenience. From the pilothouse through a storm hatch, a companionway puts you into the the salon where there are opposing settees, cabinetry, and a wall-mounted heater. Two full enclosures house the engine and the generator to deaden the noise levels when running.
Forward from the salon are private bunk rooms to port and starboard along with a head and vanity. Aft of the salon sits a dining room with gimballed table to port and at starboard is the galley with double stainless sink, stove/oven, ample counter space and a residential 110v refrigerator/freezer.
Aft of the galley/dining room is the master stateroom featuring queen bed, large head with shower/tub, settee and cabinet storage.
