  2. Spacious Interior: The layout typically features generous living spaces, allowing for comfortable accommodations for families or groups. The open-plan design maximizes natural light and ventilation.

  3. Stability: As a catamaran, the Crowther 46 offers excellent stability, reducing the risk of heeling and providing a comfortable ride, particularly in choppy waters.

Hull and General

Ocean Zen, built in 1991 in Stewart, Florida by Bruce Osborne’s Offshore Catamarans, utilizes the molds of the Lock Crowther Super Shockwave. The hull underwent a professional custom refit in 2001, upgrading her layout significantly. The hulls are cored with Corecell foam, making her light and fast. The helm station was later enclosed by Transfusion Boatworks for comfort in rough weather, with pop-out windows for warm summer days. Designed with long, narrow hulls, twin daggerboards, and tulip bows, Ocean Zen features a rotating mast for precise control in various wind conditions and angles. She is easy to sail in light to moderate winds, capable of speeds over 20 knots, and cruises comfortably at 10 knots under power.
