Built as a go-anywhere offshore cruiser "Northern Lights" has a taller sail-plan and a 120 hp diesel engine to help get you to where you want to go. Big, beamy, a powerful design, the Mapleleaf 48 sails flat and fast. Her center-cockpit surrounds you with high-back portection. An aft cockpit with a transom door leading to a swim deck makes boarding from a dingy....easy.
Two large cabin, one forward, one aft, both have private head compartments. The galley is large yet well fitted for use underway. The main cabin is huge comfortable and friendly. There is a passageway leading to the aft cabin. In the passageway there is access to the engine room.
