This 1954 Chris-Craft Commander 36 Express Cruiser is a rare find, as only 113 Commanders were made that year. Of those, only two (to the best of our knowledge) were ordered as an Express Cruiser with a flying bridge, ventilating windshields, a folding top with side and aft curtains. The vessel features carvel mahogany planking on both the hull and deck, supported by oak wood-cypress framing. Silicon bronze fasteners secure the planking and all original deck hardware re-chromed,
Powering the boat are two 1962 Chris-Craft Model 327 Q raw water-cooled inboard marine gasoline engines, each producing 230 hp, installed in 2005. These engines are paired with Paragon marine transmissions and have approximately 1,500 hours of operation.
Accommodations are available for four people, and the boat includes a bathroom with an electric toilet. The vessel remains in its original state and has been meticulously maintained, spending its entire life on the fresh waters of Lake Winnipesaukee. A survey conducted by Thomas J. Ferguson on May 30, 2024, is available for review.
