The 38' Shelter Island Runabout is offered with twin Yanmar diesel engines ranging from 260 hp to 370 hp. With the 370's the Runabout can cruise effortlessly at 36 knots and top out at 45 knots all the while burning less fuel than all other boats in her class. The Runabout is available with the smooth shifting Yanmar Joystick Control system which makes docking a snap. Construction

Accommodations:
Down below sleeps two in an oversized double with available filler cushion. When not used as a bunk the V berth area is laid out as two generous sofas with upholstered backrests. An extra large hanging locker forward, shelving and a bureau with book locker easily handle a couples cruising needs for space. There are reading lamps over the bunks and fans to circulate air. The interior is finished in soft white Awlgrip with satin varnished cherry trim and a varnished teak cabin sole. The head has a stainless sink and Scandvik fixture. There’s a hand held shower in the head with automatic sump pump. There’s ample locker space for towels and toiletries plus a teak framed mirror is mounted on the bulkhead.
Galley:
White countertop with a stainless steel sink and a Scandvik faucet. There are also lockers and drawers for utensils and food storage. A 12VDC/110VAC refrigerator can keep food and beverages cool and the built in microwave serves piping hot prepared dishes and hors d’ oeuvres for guests.
