Manufacturers Overview

The Catalina 36 MKII is easily handled by a couple without the need for crew. She has a large comfortable cockpit, a spacious interior with two private cabins and the integrity to pursue cruising dreams, many experienced sailors consider the Catalina 36 the perfect boat for their sailing lifestyle. The Catalina 36 MkII is one of the most popular 36-foot sailboats in the world. They are built with a seakindly moderate displacement hull that performs well in a variety of conditions. The deck is a classic trunk cabin configuration - proven, comfortable and functional. The main cabin and galley have been designed with  attention to design and detail. The galley is a functional U-shape, with composite countertops, the sinks are near centerline for proper drainage underway. A large refrigerated ice box is aft and a dry food locker is forward. A gimballed, stainless steel LPG stove with oven is complimented with a Microwave oven. The main cabin features a spacious dinette that converts to a huge cruising or guest berth. There are two seats and a table to starboard can be made into a settee or berth with the cushions provided. There are two private cabins which many owners consider them both to be master staterooms. The main cabin and all interior teak has the warmth and durability only obtained with multiple coats of varnish. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems have been engineered for dependability and accessibility. Engine access is excellent, with the one-piece, insulated enclosure removed. The hull is rugged, hand-laminated, solid fiberglass; the keel is lead with integrally cast stainless steel bolts. The mast is stepped through the deck on the keel and has inline spreaders and fore and aft lower shrouds, a sturdy arrangement that is easy to tune.

A big comfortable cockpit, a spacious interior with two private cabins and a sail plan that easy for a couple to handle. Many experienced sailors consider The Catalina 36 the perfect boat for their sailing lifestyle. The aft cabin features a large athwartship double berth, hanging locker and bureau. The owners cabin features a large berth with custom mattress topper and a private entrance to the head. There is good ventilation throughout the boat and there are ample drawers, lockers and bins for all your cruising provisions.

The main cabin is arranged with a U-shaped galley and dinette. The dinette can be converted into a queen-sized cushioned area for watching movies or lounging. To starboard is a game table with two seats. Teak staving, shelves and storage lockers, add to the organized look and feel of the all teak interior. Aft of the game table is a navigation station conveniently located next to the cockpit stairs. The private guest stateroom with a queen size berth is located aft on the starboard side.

The interior of EMESE is warm and inviting with excellent natural light and ventilation through multiple fixed windows, overhead hatches and opening portlights. She can comfortably accommodate 7 crew in comfort. Her chefs galley is well arranged and it is conveniently located at the base of the companionway where meals can be easily passed to those in the cockpit as well as those at the two separate dinette areas in the main salon. The two private staterooms both forward and aft are each comfortable enough to be considered master staterooms. If space is needed for additional crew or while underway cruising both the U-shaped dinette to port and the dinette to starboard can be easily converted to berths with the cushions provided.
