Summary
Dublin Luck is a 2007 Catalina 309 that cruised the Chesapeake Bay. She sports a new Ullman furling mainsail, updated electronics including Raymarine Axiom MFD, reverse cycle A/C, 21 hp Yanmar diesel, and shoal draft performance. A well-equipped, easy-handling cruiser for your next adventure!
Layout & Accommodations

A faux teak‑and‑holly sole and pleated window coverings dress the bright salon. The forward cabin offers a sliding V‑berth filler and hanging locker, and the aft cabin has a generous double berth. Screens on all ports/hatches (most unused) ensure bug‑free ventilation, and an accordion door provides privacy to the forward berth. Recently installed Zarcor companionway hatch doors with interchangeable white, tinted, and screened panels (2024) improve access.

The reverse‑cycle 12,000 BTU Cruiseair unit supplies heating and cooling throughout the boat. A manual Jabsco head with macerator (17-gal holding tank) was overhauled in 2024. Hot/cold pressure water from a Shurflo pump and a Seaward 6‑gal heater serves the galley, head, and cockpit shower.

Galley

The galley includes a Waeco 12 V front‑loading fridge/freezer, a two‑burner propane stove with oven, and a rail‑mounted Magma grill on the stern. The LPG system is properly vented with a solenoid shut‑off and regulator.

Sails and Rigging
  • Aluminum mast (48' 3") and boom; standing rigging is 1×19 stainless wire inspected in 2019. Running rigging is serviceable and includes a spinnaker halyard.
  • Sail inventory now features a new Ullman roller‑furling mainsail (2024), a 130% roller‑furling genoa with sun‑shade serviced in 2019, and new genoa sheets (2024).
  • In‑mast and genoa furling systems, Selden Rodkicker vang, traveler forward of the dodger, and Lewmar 28/34 winches.

Deck and Cockpit

The cockpit’s U‑shaped seating and folding teak table are fitted with 3" foam cushions, and a Lewmar folding stainless wheel with leather wrap provides precise steering.

The popular stern rail seats have cushions, speakers, and drink holders. Decks are white with grey nonskid.

Canvas was renewed in 2019, featuring a bimini with a viewing window and a Macralon dodger. The companionway hatch doors were upgraded in 2024.

Ground tackle includes a Delta anchor with chain and rode and a Maxwell windlass.

Six cleats (four fixed, two adjustable) secure lines.

A swim platform with a stainless ladder eases boarding.

Fresh ablative bottom paint and a new propeller zinc were applied in 2025.

Engine and Mechanical

A 21 hp Yanmar 3YM20G diesel (approx. 1,025 hrs) drives a bronze propeller via a Kanzaki transmission and dripless shaft coupler.

Ventilation is by an electric blower, fuel passes through a Racor filter, and is stored in a 27‑gal aluminum tank.

An emergency tiller is included.

Spare engine parts and a new oil‑change kit (Yanmar oil, OEM filter, hand‑pump extractor) are included with the boat.

Electrical and Electronics

Dual 30‑amp shore‑power inlets supply heat/air and general loads.

The house bank is a 4D AGM (195 Ah) installed in 2023, and a new starter battery was fitted in 2025.

Charging comes from a Charles 20 A charger; a Xantrex XM1000 inverter and galvanic isolators are fitted.

Cabin, deck, and navigation lights are incandescent.

The 34" flat‑screen TV with mast‑head antenna now has a Wi‑Fi enhancer and Amazon FireStick for streaming.

The original Kenwood stereo with Bose cockpit speakers has been replaced by a Fusion stereo with helm remote (2024).

Electronics include a Raymarine Axiom 7 MFD with Navionics charts (installed 2024), ST60 depth/wind instruments, RC435i chartplotter, ICom IC‑M422 VHF with remote mic, and a Raymarine Smart Pilot wheel‑drive autopilot (recently overhauled with new gear belt).

Safety Equipment

In addition to six Type II adult life jackets, a Lifesling MOB recovery system, a mounted flare kit, and fire extinguishers, upgrades include two Mustang inflatable life jackets (2024), two West Marine belt‑style inflatables (2024), a new flare gun and flares (2024), and two throwable PFDs.

Additional Equipment

Fenders (four) and docklines (two 35' & four 25' plus spring line)—with extra bumpers and lines added recently

Aquaduk winterization system, spare fuses and engine parts, wind scoop, folding seats, tube with pump, and nautical flags all convey.
