The original Catalina 27 is an American built sailboat designed by Frank Butler. Becoming one of the most popular sailing keelboats of all time , starting production in 1971 thru 1991 with 6000 hull's built. Despite the fact that the Catalina 27 was designed and built as a coastal cruiser-racer, several have actually made circumnavigations. Then in 1993 the Catalina 270 was introduced to provide more performance and comfortable accommodations for the active sailing family. The newer model featuring updated design elements slightly larger, providing more space and satiability. More modern interior layout with improved amenities, storage area and more of an efficient sail plan for better performance under sail. The 270 completed her line in 2006 with over 1000 built.
"Windfall" is looking for her new Captain to take the helm. Her current owner has had the helm for 24 yrs and has shown her love with meticulous care. She is a double spreader, sloop rig with standard full batten main and furling jib. Powered by a diesel Perkins 18 hp. B&G Knot-Depth-Wind. With an open v berth forward, she has an athwarthship double berth stateroom aft. Galley and spacious salon.
With a roomy centerline companionway, one has an easy access below to a light and airy salon, with skylights, and adequate ventilation throughout. to port of companionway with a "L" shaped galley. To starboard is a "wet" head. Aft is access to a double berth athwartship berth with storage. To port and forward of the galley is the Nav Station. The salon lends to a centerline table with long bench seating port and starboard. Open v berth forward.
