This Catalac 9 Meter is a molded FRP catamaran configured as a masthead sloop rigged, twin gasoline outboard powered sailing vessel of conventional design with raked stems and modified transom stern.
This description is from the 2021 survey report with some additions.
The owner reports that the vessel was professionally prepped and recoated in 2000 with two layers of epoxy barrier coat. No osmotically induced blisters were detected or observed. No sign of impact damage, improper repairs or structural fatigue. The hull was found to be in good condition.
Molded, cored FRP deck cap and superstructure. Integral nonskid surface on all weather decks. SS stanchions with woven safety netting. Hand holds as required. Self bailing cockpit with adequate freeing ports. Vinyl rub rail. Adequate mooring and sailing hardware. Molded trunk cabin fitted with good ventilation and access to interior spaces. Aluminum main mast tabernacle on deck over adequate vertical/main bulkhead support. Internal SS chain plates to adequate hull reinforcements. Molded, self bailing anchor locker. Transom hung rudders.
Main cabin with helm station port side and seating. Steps down to port hull to galley. Steps down starboard to berthing area, electrical lazarette and head. The interior was found to be well- maintained with adequate light, ventilation and access throughout
Extruded, anodized mast and boom. Masthead sloop rig with inner stay and split backstay. 1 x 19 SS standing rigging fitted with roller swage terminal ends to open body SS turnbuckles and in internal/external SS chain plates with adequate reinforcements. The deck Ron topping lift was found to be in good condition. Dacron running rigging in good condition. The mast is stepped on deck in a tag tabernacle assembly with adequate vertical supports.
Sails: 1-mainsail/serviceable,1-150% roller furling Genoa/Harken/serviceable, 1-spinnaker. Winches: 2-Lewmar halyard, 2-Lewmar #40 primary
ENGINES: 2-2021 9.9 HP, 4-stroke. Gasoline powered outboard motors with primary and secondary fuel filters and three blade aluminum propellers. The engines are set and custom motor wells with limited visual access. The lower units and propellers appear to be undamaged. Hours reported as under 200.
PUMPS: 2-12VDC automatic/manual activated bilge of adequate capacity 2-manual bilge
2-fresh water and 1-RO feed pump
BATTERIES:2 -Group 24/12VDC lead/acid form start banks via approved vapor proof switches. 1-Fire Fly AGM 12VDC
All batteries secured in acid proof trays/boxes with adequate ventilation and access.
TANKS: 1-25-gallon (reported) ABS with approved fuel feed, fill, bond, vent (outboard) lines, valves, shut off and connections
