Carver hit a "Home Run" with the 444 Cockpit Motor Yacht. The popularity can be attributed to the wide-open floor plan inside and out. The overused terminology, " user friendly", would be a big understatement here, where it is so easy to get around on the boat. Power Boat Guide states, "No other cockpit yacht her size can match the 444 for interior space and comfort, and none has a larger cockpit. Stepping below, the enormous full-beam interior of the Carver 444-- made possible by raising the side decks to eye level --comes as a surprise. With its panoramic views and nearly seven feet of headroom, the salon dimensions are those of a much larger boat." They go on to boast on the spacious design and layout of the bridge with salon seating and wet bar. The aft deck has wing doors forward to access the foredeck and molded fiberglass stairs to the cockpit. The cockpit can also be reached through a sliding glass door in the master stateroom. More importantly this entry level door is within 4 feet of the head and shower. The 444 is a great swim/dive platform with a transom door to keep the little ones in and a transom shower to keep them out (until they rinse off). This Carver has low engine hours (425 hrs) on the high-performance 370 HP Volvo Diesel TAMD 63s. She is kept in fresh water and in a covered slip. She is clean and not full of clutter. This one is worth seeing.
