The history of the vessel: Monte Cristo was purchased new from Chic Marine in Ft Lauderdale in the spring of 2002. The owners hired a teaching captain to accompany and teach them piloting and navigating from Fort Lauderdale to Herrington Harbour South in the Chesapeake Bay. It was quite a 7-day trip in April 2002 - Outside - Lauderdale to Ft. Pierce, St Augustine, Jacksonville, Hilton Head, Charleston SC, Southport NC. Storms then forced them "inside" to the Albemarle and Pamlico sounds, then through the Great Dismal Swap canal system to the Elizabeth River and Norfolk. Final day up the Chesapeake unfortunately brought a storm with 8 ft seas for three hours until a large tanker appeared and they clung to his stern for calmer 4 ft chop to the slip. Over the years they made many trips to Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Kingsmill up the James River, Baltimore, Annapolis, St Michaels and the Elk River up the canal to the Delaware River. Even if you don't like the longer trips, Monte Cristo makes a great weekend, waterside home.

About the Carver 444: the Carver 444 Cockpit Motor Yacht is basically a Carver 396 Motor Yacht with a cockpit and extra fuel. This was a huge sales success for Carver. No other cockpit yacht her size can match the 444 for interior space and comfort, and none has a larger cockpit. Stepping below, the enormous full-beam interior of the Carver 444 made possible by raising the side decks to eye level comes as a surprise. With its panoramic views and nearly seven feet of headroom, the salon dimensions are those of a much larger boat. A mid-level galley is forward to port, and both staterooms have queen berths. To save space, the forward head is split with the shower stall to port and toilet compartment to starboard. A sliding glass door in the master stateroom opens directly into the cockpit. Wing doors and a hardtop protect the aft deck, also on the small side. Topside, the helm is forward on the spacious flybridge with lounge seating and wet bar aft. Maintenance and upgrades to Monte Cristo

• Volvo engines: maintained continuously by Volvo-certified mechanics. Last fall they assessed any and all engine protocols based on usage and age - these were all completed in 2024 as prescribed for engines, transmissions, and genset.
• Surveyed 2024 to inform seller of work needed for successful sale. Received an "Above Average" vessel condition rating
• Electronics: updated to Furuno Navnet TZ3
