Introduction to "SANTE"

Sante’, a 2013 Beneteau Swift 34, is an immaculate Pacific Northwest trawler that is up for sale in Olympia WA.

From luxury day trips in the San Juans, to a full on expedition up the inside passage to Glacier Bay in Alaska, Sante' has the power to motor thru the rip currents of Dodd Narrows or run at 20 knots across Georgia Strait to avoid an incoming blow.

She can also throttle back to a stately 6 knots, burning just 1.6 gallons per hour and extending her range to almost 500 miles. Her healthy beam and full stern give her stability and afford her a remarkable amount of interior volume that can easily accommodate an extended cruise with two couples or a full family, and all this in a package that can easily be maneuvered into an economical 36 foot slip using her powerful bow and stern thrusters.

Her flybridge, interior helm station, fully enclosed aft cockpit and heated accommodations make for comfortable cruising in all weather. The asymmetrical deck layout, with hip high bulwarks and a covered side deck to starboard and solid  1" welded stainless steel safety rail to port and all around her upper decks and flybridge, she is a safe passage maker.

Down below, the rich cherry wood joinery and euro styling make her sparkle, and somehow Beneteau has managed to fit the accomodations of a 40 footer into 34 foot waterline. the accommodations up forward are extremely comfortable, with an enormous owner's cabin, a head and a bunk cabin that has some real room.

Sante’ has had only two owners, both fastidious in their care and maintenance of her. To top it off she has had a massive upgrade in 24/25 adding a whole new suite of electrical components, solar, and 120volt generating capabilities not to mention the addition of Starlink, cockpit dodgers, sun shades, an articulating davits and a dinghy cradle and much more. Come take a look at this remarkable boat.

Interior layout and accommodations

The interior joinery is rich in Cherry, Sapele and Maple wood accents, with fantastic visibility and ventilation all around, thanks to the large windows forward, sliding windows down both sides and a full sliding glass door at the rear. Entry can be made from the dock, thru the boarding gates to the exterior companion way and into the saloon all on the same level without stepping up or down, or having to step over a bulkhead. The helm is to starboard with 360 degree visibility and a screened sliding door providing direct access to the companion way and making solo docking a breeze. The Galley to port of the helm is a secure place underway to prepare a meal, with plenty of countertop space, room for a 2-burner propane cooktop, a microwave and a gas oven forward, and a double sink aft. The fridge is to starboard under the helm bench. Moving aft, is the saloon. It is remarkably spacious for a 36 foot trawler, spanning the complete width of the boat with a comfortable 4 person settee to starboard, and an amazing amount of storage on the port side and under the settee. Below the floor of the salon is a hatch which provides access to the spacious engine compartment.

Step down between the galley and helm to the sleeping quarters and the head. The guest cabin with two single bunk beds and storage is to port and the master cabin is in the bow. The forward cabin has large storage closets port and starboard, a very large, comfortable V-berth and  shelves down either side. The head and shower is to starboard.

All accommodations are served by a wabasto furnace

The larger table provides the infill for a queen sized bed with the addition of a rollup mattress. The new design is much more practical and convenient than the original Beneteau design that featured a very heavy unsecured table in the middle of the saloon where it had to be moved every time you needed to check the engine. The flexibility, practicality and safety of this modification would make any sailor wonder why anyone would go back to the original design, nevertheless the owner has all the Beneteau parts and pieces in heated storage, and the settee can be easily replaced with the original sofa and table setup without any marks showing on the cabinetry.
