Summary
Wanderer is a 2019 Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 that the present owners have set up for long-distance cruising. Their dream was to buy a boat in their hometown of Seattle and sail to Florida. After some test sails, the boat proved to be a potentially great cruiser. Next came outfitting her for a 9000-mile cruise through various weather conditions and sea states. The boat performed well on its cruise along the US, Mexico, and Central America's West Coast. Wanderer has a functional 2-stateroom single-head version of this popular boat. She has a roomy salon with a well-designed galley, plenty of light and ventilation. More details are available in the listing itself. The large cockpit is very functional with seating for 6 around a teak folding table while in port and dual helms with easy access to the sheet winches, bow thruster, and nav instruments. She has a fiberglass arch for the mainsheet as well as for the dodger and Bimini to connect to, thus keeping the mainsheet out of the cockpit. Wanderer also has a very practical drop-down transom when at anchor. Upgrades: 1) Lithium house batteries: Victron smart lithium 600amp hours (3x200) 2) Victron multi plus 3) Two Victron MPPT 100/50 solar controls with 810 watts of solar (410 hard panels and 400 flexible panels) 4) Victron multiplus inverter charge controller 5) Victron Cerbo GX with 7” touch screen 5) Balmar regulator hi output Alternator 6) Seawater Pro 17gph DC Watermaker 7) Beneteau Arch/davit system 8) Highfield CL290 (2024)with Mercury 9.9 two-stroke 9) Rochna MK2 55lbs anchor with Ultra Swivel 11) B&G Halo 20+ installed 2023 12) Viking 6-person rescue me pro-self-righting
Vessel Layout

"Wanderer" is a two-cabin, one-head version of the 41.1 with a pantry/storage area aft of the galley.

Starting at the bow, there is a large V-berth with two large hanging lockers, a huge drawer under the berth, and an entry with double doors to help make the whole boat feel larger.

Aft of the v-berth is the u-shaped salon settee to starboard with a large folding leaf table and filler cushion for a double berth conversion. to port is more seating and the nav table.

Aft of the salon is the large head-to-starboard with a fully enclosed shower and electric flush toilet.

Then to port is the galley with lots of counter work space, a large stainless sink, a two-burner propane stove, top and front loading fridge, and a microwave.

Directly aft of the galley is a pantry/storage room with ample storage space.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2019 Beneteau 41.1 is a popular cruising sailboat known for its blend of performance, comfort, and modern design. Here are some of the key pros and cons:

Pros

Spacious and Comfortable Interior: The 41.1 offers a well-designed cabin layout with ample natural light, providing a bright and airy living space. It typically features two or three cabins, a comfortable saloon, and a functional galley, making it suitable for extended cruising or family outings.

Performance-Oriented Hull Design: With a modern hull shape and balanced sail plan, the Beneteau 41.1 delivers responsive handling and good speed under sail, appealing to sailors who want a blend of comfort and performance.

Quality Construction and Finishes: Built by Beneteau, the 41.1 benefits from solid build quality and thoughtful craftsmanship, including high-quality materials and attention to detail in the fittings and joinery.

Easy Handling: Equipped with features such as in-mast furling mainsail and well-organized deck hardware, the boat is manageable by a small crew or even single-handed sailors.

Good Tankage and Storage: The boat offers generous water and fuel tank capacities, as well as ample storage space, supporting longer voyages and liveaboard comfort.

Cons

In-Mast Furling Mainsail Impact on Performance: While convenient, the in-mast furling system can reduce sail shape efficiency and overall sailing performance compared to a traditional mainsail with battens.

Limited Cockpit Space: The cockpit, while functional, may feel somewhat compact for larger groups, especially when compared to some other boats in the same size range.

Light Wind Performance: Although generally good, the boat’s heavier displacement can sometimes result in less responsive sailing in very light wind conditions.

Engine Power: The standard engine size may be on the lower side for certain conditions, such as motoring against strong currents or waves, potentially requiring extra care when maneuvering.

Made For
