1968 Allied Greenwich 24 - Hull #41
This Allied Greenwich 24 has beautiful classic lines, and has been worked on toward restoration, and is almost complete , but for minor details. It is worth a viewing. The Greenwich 24 was designed by George Stadel in 1967 and built by the Allied Boat Company. In 1973 the molds were sold to Cape Dory and became the iconic Cape Dory 25. With her long overhangs and gently curving sheer she turns heads wherever you sail her. The full keel and 1500 lb ballast gives her the feel of a much larger boat with a good turn of speed and gentle motion; she is a joy to sail.
This boat was donated to the Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association, a nonprofit sailing school, who is selling it for the benefit of their youth sailing program.
The donors of this boat bought her a few years ago as a "project boat." A fastidious couple, they invested hundreds of hours of hard work and refinished the entire boat inside and out. Unfortunately their circumstances changed, and they donated the boat to our organization.
The hull sports a brand-new Claret Red AwlGrip finish - a significant value. The cockpit, cabin top and deck have been resurfaced, and the bottom has a fresh coat of anti-fouling paint. All of the original interior and exterior teak has been refinished. The interior cushions have all been re-covered. (The forward cushions are shown in the photographs; the main cabin cushions are similar and are in storage off the boat.)
It has its standing rigging, sails , and its significant hardware.
