1967 Hinckley Bermuda 40

LEGACY had a huge refit here at Hinckley Yacht Services in Maine in 2003. Since then, she has been lovingly taken care of by her owner who lives and sails out of Charleston, SC. He keeps her in our Maine Service yard during the winter months - This boat is a prize for an older Bermuda 40.

INTRODUCTION: LEGACY has a "dinette interior" that sleeps 6, is set-up for shorthanded sailing, and in 2002 received a refit at the Hinckley Yard in Southwest Harbor, ME that include reverse-cycle air conditioning, generator, autopilot and much more. She has had more upgrades since then and is currently stored out of the water in heated storage at Hinckley Maine

HULL AND DECK:

Construction:

• Solid hand laid fiberglass hull reinforced with additional laminations in all stress areas.
• Deck is set in a 6" flange that is molded into the hull, fiberglassed and bolted to form a permanent hull/deck joint.
• External lead keel with centerboard is fastened with stainless steel bolts.
• Bronze centerboard is operated by a worm gear with override in case of grounding.
