A piece of Wisconsin History! 1905 Dan Kidney & Sons! Fully restored in the late 60's!
This 1905 Dan Kidney & Sons Launch is more than just a vessel; it is a meticulously preserved artifact of American maritime history. Built at the turn of the 20th century in West De Pere, Wisconsin, this 22-foot launch represents the pinnacle of early "gasoline launch" engineering.
Having undergone a complete restoration in the late 1960s, she remains in show-quality condition, famously earning the title of Antique Boat of the Year at the prestigious Thousand Islands Boat Show in Clayton, NY, in 1972.
The History of Dan Kidney & Sons
The legacy of Dan Kidney is rooted in the golden age of wooden boat building. Established in 1874, the Kidney & Son Boat Factory expanded from a small home workshop into a massive 40,000-square-foot facility employing dozens of master craftsmen. While they were world-renowned for their "Green Bay" hunting boats and canoes, their gasoline launches were the luxury cruisers of their day.
Because early gasoline engines in wooden hulls were significant fire hazards, very few of these original launches have survived the last 120 years, making this specific boat a rare find for serious collectors.
While we will always attempt to provide you with a TRUE representation of every vessel we market, during any purchase from Pop you will be encouraged to schedule an inspection from an independent, accredited surveyor and every purchase WILL ALWAYS BE subject to your satisfaction with the results from your independent survey and your own personal trial run.
