A Blue Water Sailor, Back from Tortola
Sul Vento arrived in St. Petersburg with salt on her hull and a delivery crew that didn't want to leave. This beautifully equipped 2020 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 has been extensively refit in 2025 and is poised to go wherever you want to take her. With new sails, new rigging, new batteries, and a professionally repaired and refinished keel, Sul Vento offers an unusually high level of confidence for a used boat purchase in this price range.
A Charter Background Done Right
Sul Vento spent five years in the Sunsail Charter fleet - and that's actually a good thing for the next owner. Commercial charter operation means the boat was maintained to a professional standard throughout her working life. More importantly, Sunsail's contractual post-charter refit program required a comprehensive stem-to-stern renewal before the vessel could be released for sale. During that refit, evidence of minor keel movement was discovered - a known characteristic of this hull design under heavy charter use - and was professionally repaired, including removal and refinishing of the keel, repair of the hull/keel joint, and remounting. A post-refit survey is available upon request and tells the full story.
2025 Refit - What Was Done
This is not a cosmetic freshening. The 2025 refit included:
- Keel removed, refinished, hull/keel joint repaired, keel rebed and remounted
- Both rudders removed, refinished, and remounted
- V1 and V2 shrouds replaced
- Main halyard and topping lift replaced
- Mast base swivel blocks replaced
- Mainsail and genoa replaced (new stackpack lazy jack system)
- Four house gel batteries replaced (December 2025)
- Cockpit chain counter replaced
- Coachroof forward skylight replaced
- Chart tabletop refinished
- Magnetic compass replaced
- Two lifeline sections replaced
- Cutlass bearing replaced
- Head faucets replaced
- Prop shaft anode replaced
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed
On Deck
Sul Vento's deck layout is one of the Sun Odyssey 410's most celebrated features. The walkaround side decks slope gently down to cockpit level, allowing easy, obstacle-free movement from helm to bow - a rare and practical feature on a 41-foot cruiser. Twin helm stations with dual steering wheels give excellent visibility and control, and the twin self-aligning rudders deliver a smooth, balanced ride. All rigging runs back to the helm stations, making single-handed or short-handed sailing genuinely manageable.
The cockpit is spacious and social, centered around a GRP table with folding leaves. A bimini and dodger provide shade and weather protection, and the large electric fold-down swim platform with ladder makes getting in and out of the water effortless. Hot and cold cockpit shower included.
Below Decks
The three-cabin, two-head interior is bright and airy, with 6'6" of headroom throughout and generous natural light from seven opening deck hatches and large hull ports. Light oak composite floorboards give the saloon a warm, modern feel.
The forward master cabin offers a large berth and en suite head. Two aft guest cabins - one to port, one to starboard - each have their own opening ports for ventilation. The second head is accessible from both the starboard cabin and the saloon.
The galley is well-equipped with a Vitrifrigo 190L front-opening refrigerator with freezer box, a two-burner ENO stove, double stainless steel sinks, and hot and cold fresh water. Storage is ample throughout. Two Crusair air conditioning units (28,000 BTU total, shore power) keep things comfortable in the Florida heat.
Electronics & Navigation

- Raymarine p70s autopilot with ACU400 core unit and gyrocompass
- Raymarine i70s multifunction display (tri-data)
- VHF radio
- Fusion Bluetooth two-zone stereo system

Sail Plan & Rigging
Sul Vento is well-sorted upwind and off the wind. The new heavy-duty battened mainsail with stackpack lazy jack system (2025) and new 115% furling genoa with UV protection (2025) mean you're starting with fresh canvas. The ProFurl roller furling system is smooth and reliable. Primary sheet handling is via two Harken 46.2 self-tailing genoa winches at the helm stations, with a Harken 40.2 electric halyard winch on the coachroof to port. Spinlock rope clutches, solid vang, and adjustable backstay complete a practical and performance-oriented rig.
Mechanical
The Yanmar 40HP (3JH5A) diesel with shaft drive has 2,950 hours - moderate and well within the expected service life for a well-maintained auxiliary diesel. Fixed three-blade propeller, dripless stuffing box, and a 1,000W windlass with chain counter round out the mechanical package. Two Jabsco electric flush heads, electric and manual bilge pumps, and a 10-gallon water heater (shore power or engine heat exchange) are all aboard.
Solar charging is provided by two 70W Sunware panels with a Fox-220 charge controller, backed by four 85Ah gel house batteries (replaced December 2025) and a 60A battery charger.
