ELUSIVE has been in the same ownership for over 35 years and has been stored under cover at the Huckins yard where she has been maintained with an open checkbook and regularly updated, but still keeping with her beautiful charm and original features. You will not find a Huckins on the market today that has benefitted from 2 refits, but still holds all the charm from the day she was launched.


ELUSIVE can sleep 8 guests in 3 staterooms plus a convertible settee for two in the salon. The primary stateroom is aft with twin berths and an en-suite head with stall shower. Forward to port is the second cabin with 2 bunk beds. Opposite to starboard is a guest head which also serves as a day head. Up a few steps is the main salon. Moving forward and down two steps from the salon is the galley and dinette followed by the forward guest stateroom with upper and lower bunks.


The helm station is on the centerline with a two-person bench seat to port and a single helm seat for the captain. Aft of the companion seat is a wet bar with built in U-Line icemaker. There is an L-shaped settee located aft and to starboard with a large coffee table. The entire bridge deck is air conditioned. Access to the cockpit is through a door on the port side aft.

ELUSIVE is powered with a pair of 8V71N motors with the Huckins V Drives giving her a cruising speed of approximately 17 knots.

Hull Construction

The hull is double planked diagonal Philippine mahogany bonded with Resorcinol resin and then sheathed with 20 oz. fiberglass cloth set in epoxy. This composite wood construction is similar to cold molded wood construction of today. The frames are sawn white oak and the keel and keelson are laminated white oak. The decks and cabin tops are sheathed with 10 oz. fiberglass cloth set in epoxy.

Brokers Remarks

ELUSIVE has been maintained by Huckins Yacht Corporation and kept at their facility under cover and has been getting routine maintenance every year. In April of 2023 all the batteries were replaced along with a new 32v smart charging system.
