Introducing "FOCUS," a highly customized 63' Hatteras, extensively redesigned from a 1977 58' Yacht Fish and thoughtfully rebuilt with an emphasis on function, balance, and long-range comfort. This is not a typical refit, but a comprehensive transformation that sets this vessel apart from standard production examples.
The aft deck was extended with ten feet of teak decking; and the flybridge repositioned forward to maintain proper proportions and improve overall flow. A custom circular stairway was added between the aft and midship areas, allowing direct access to the saloon while preserving privacy within the guest accommodations. The original midship bunk configuration was reimagined to create two queen staterooms, offering a more practical layout for cruising couples.
Mechanical and electrical upgrades include a modernized power panel with PLC-controlled distribution and a new ISO transformer. The engines show approximately 1,500 hours since major overhaul. Generator sets were relocated beneath the aft deck with a dedicated adjacent fuel tank, improving service access and reducing noise in the living spaces. Mather electronic controls with port and starboard wing stations provide excellent visibility and confidence when docking.
Comfort underway and at anchor is supported by a Kabula hydronic heating system, well-suited for Pacific Northwest cruising. The vessel was professionally finished in Algrip by Delta Marine in Seattle, reflecting the quality and level of care invested throughout this unique Hatteras
This 63' custom Hatteras began life as a 1977 58' YF and was extensively redesigned and rebuilt with an emphasis on practical cruising, serviceability, and livability. The goal of the project was not cosmetic refit alone, but to improve how the boat functions day-to-day while retaining the solid Hatteras platform.
The aft deck was extended approximately ten feet and finished in teak. To maintain balance and avoid the "stretched" look common with extensions, the flybridge was moved forward. A circular stairway was added between the aft and midship areas, allowing access to the saloon without routing traffic through the mid stateroom. The original midship bunk layout was reworked into two queen staterooms, creating a more usable arrangement for couples or extended cruising.
Electrical upgrades include a new power panel with PLC-based distribution controls along with an ISO transformer. Engines have roughly 1,500 hours since major overhaul. The generator sets were relocated from beneath the galley to a space under the aft deck, accompanied by a dedicated fuel tank, which improves noise isolation and access for maintenance. Mather electronic controls were installed, allowing port and starboard wing stations for improved visibility during docking.
Heat is provided by a Kabola hydronic system, well suited for Northwest cruising. The vessel was painted in Algrip by Delta Marine in Seattle. Overall, this is a highly individualized Hatteras intended for an owner who values thoughtful engineering changes and a layout tailored toward real-world use rather than original factory configuration.
The yacht comfortably accommodates 6 people in three cabins with two heads, providing ample space for relaxation, while the seating capacity for six ensures enjoyable gatherings on board. With a range of 500 miles, the Hatteras 63' is ready to explore distant shores. Experience the perfect blend of luxury and functionality with the "FOCUS," a true gem in the world of motor yachts.
