Founded in 1966, Fairline is an English company that builds high quality yachts similar to Sunseeker or Princess.
This 2010 Fairline Squadron 55 is the second generation of the model, which was for a while the flagship of the fleet. It has a beautiful blue hull, with a deep-v for a soft ride, and two powerful 853HP Caterpillar engines for a good touch of speed.
Inside, there are 3 staterooms: A full-beam master with en-suite head & shower; a VIP with centerline queen berth; and a guest cabin with twin singles. The latter cabins are served by a second day head. The woodwork throughout is high-gloss cherry, in lovely condition, while underfoot is soft carpet that was replaced not long ago.
Above, there is an inside helm with a full suite of electronics, followed by a well equipped up-galley with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Opposite is a dinette with a folding wooden table that can seat 6 for dinner.
Moving aft is a salon with a u-shaped seating opposite a large screen TV. Hi fidelity sound comes from a Bang & Olufson audio system that combines with a Fusion system outside.
Exiting through stainless-steel sliding doors takes you out onto a spacious cockpit with a teak sole, and comfortable transom seating, beneath which is a captain's cabin that can also be used for storage.
Finally there is a teak inlaid swim platform that has a boarding passerelle that doubles as a davit for a tender. (The tender is a very recent Zar RIB w/ Honda 40HP that is available separately.)
Up on the flybridge, there is enough room for a party. There is seating at the back with a large wooden table, and then sun loungers surrounding the helm forwards. In between is a BBQ, sink, reefer & icemaker to keep everyone watered and fed. And if the revelries go on beyond sunset, there is night lighting, and even underwater lighting for a moonlight swim...
