Fountaine Pajot is the world’s premier builder of cruising catamarans. They have consistently set the industry standards for excellence since their inception in France in 1976. From two state-of-the-art sites in France, Fountaine Pajot builds an exclusive range of sailing catamarans alongside a Trawler range of power catamarans.

The original Fountaine Pajot team was made up of four people who built the 505 under the leadership and supervision of Jean-François FOUNTAINE, a reknown regatta competitor who had recently returned from the Montreal Olympics. Innovative and exceptionally well built, these vessels immediately attracted the attention of the best French competitors. The enterprise then grew, with other models, the 420 and 470, built at the new Aigrefeuille yard which opened in 1978.

As early as 1980, Fountaine Pajot changed direction and began building Prototypes IOR monohull racer. These half-tonners soon became world champions upon winning the prestigious Figaro solo race. Fountain Pajot's reputation in the world of ocean racing was solidly established.

In 2009, Fountaine Pajot celebrated the milestone of completing the production of more than 1900 boats in 32 years - an exceptional achievement that is unequalled by any other multihull shipyard anywhere in the world. Fountaine Pajot is also the first shipyard to receive the ISO 9001 v2000 Quality label for it's production process, confirming their insistence on superior quality as well as client trust.
