Engine and Gear
Make: Twin Cummins KTA19-M3
Two Cat C-18 450 HP @ 1,800 RPM, 24V electric start. Each engine has Cat dual prefilters and dual racor filters. Each filter can run the system and you can switch between the filters while the engine is operating.
The filters have drip trays under them for ease of cleaning and are easily seen during engine room inspections. Each engine has its own starting bank consisting of 2 8D glassmatt batteries. The main engine
starting banks are charged by an AC charger and an alternator.
The engines have the deep crank case oil pans which allow for oil changes every 400 hours. Both engines are on SoundDown rubber isolators and coupled to CV Joints and a remote thrust block bearing for the
ultimate low vibration and low noise transmission. To protect the drive train both shafts have prop saver torque fuses added.
Fuel consumption will vary from 10 GPH to 20 GPH depending on speed and weather. Her sweet spot is 1150 RPM with a speed of around 9 knots and burning 12 to 15 GPH which includes a 55 KW Generator as
well.
Transmissions and Running Gear
ZF 650 Gear with a ratio of 4.1 to 1 These are oversized gears for added reliabilty. Posidon CV shaft and Thrust Block Bearing coupled to a 4 inch Aquamet 21 Stainless Shaft. She uses a packing box with the
new drippless packing and has a rubber bladder to allow in water change out of packing. A short driveline allows for no forward bearing, just one stern bearing to take care of on each side.
Main Engine Control System

Deck Equipment
Fore Deck
Two Fiberglass deck boxes, one for emergency pull lines and the other with a complete sea anchor system. One of the two 26 inch anchor winches with 90 ft of 7/8 stud galv chain followed by 200 feet of 1/2 inch
high tensil galv chain followed by 300 feet of 5/8 galv Wire Rope. This is typica to the fishing boats that operate in Alaska and is coupled to a 350 pound anchor. The on deck winch means no chain locker and
allows the layered chain to be used. A stainless trough is under the chain with artificial teak decking to handle any rubbing from the massive chain. This hull does not need a bulbous bow for efficiency so no
need to worry about bumping into it when operating the anchor winch. The deck is coated with Awlgrip nonskid and equipped with a warping winch and two 3 1/2 inch custom bollards for forward lines or for
towing.
Boat Deck
The boat is is 27' 7" on center line and 24' 9" wide on the inside of the bulwarks.
Aft on the boat deck is a 12,000 pound telescoping AutoCrane which can extend out to 23 feet and still pick nearly 2,000 pounds in that position and over 5,000 in its' ideal position for lift. The boat deck can
handle 10,000 pounds of toys as per the incline test performed while in the water.

Fuel System
7,000 gallons of integral fel tanks with an 1800 gallon day tank that runs all machinery onboard.
An Algae X system is used for fuel transfer and can polish any tank on the vessel.
The port and stbd wing tanks are used to introduce new fuel then transferred to the day tank through the AlgaeX system insuring only clean fuel for the machinery. Condensation ports are available for every tank
on the vessel and the tank levels can be manually dipped or easily read by the Stainless Steel Pressure Transducers mounted externally on every tank. These are feed into the vessel monitoring system and can
be read on any of the many touchscreen computers onboard.
Sea Chest and Sea Water Systems
There are four oversized sea chest built into the engine room compartment. 4 inch pipe with a 1 inch wall thickness with only a 5 inch length allows for cleaning, painting, and inspection from the outside of the
vessel. Attached to the 3/4 inch flange is a heavy duty studlock bronze ball valve so the topside plumbing can be maintained while in the water. Valves are installed on every sea chest to allow fresh water
flushing or air pressure back flushing.
Bilge System
The bilges are protected by two different systems. The large system is dual AC Powered Sump Pumps with 1 1/2 inch outlets. She has them in each water tight compartment. In addition is a small DC pump
system to keep the bilges dry. Bilge sensors are in every compartment and tied to a central alarm system.
Black and Gray Water Systems
Black water system: 1000 gallons total. Gray Water system: 150 gallon sump in the lowest portion of the boat. Gray water can be routed to the black water pump for storage or automatic discharge overboard. The
gray and black water pumps are controlled by a custom PLC that can easily change it's level triggers. This is useful in heavy weather to keep minimum fluids onboard and avoid hydraulic action from the
extreme motion of the boat.
Chilled Water and AC Systems
Standard 3 phase Commercial Scroll Compressors 4, 4 ton capacity chillers with Frequency Drives which means no flickering lights and adjustable speed and current draw. All controlled by a stand alone web
module allows for computer monitoring or access from your smart phone. Parts for this system are available anywhere.
Two large capacity keel coolers provide water to oversized flat plate condensors which means no salt water in the system and no cleaning your condensors!
Fresh Water System
One 1800 gallons per day Sea Recovery AquWhisper with commercial sized filters
1 Toyotomi diesel hot water heater for an endless supply of hot water
There is a reverse osmosis drinking water filter in the galley
There are fresh water outlets on fore deck, boat deck, aft deck and fly bridge deck
The fresh water tanks is monitored with a stainless steel pressure transducer accurate to 1/16 of an inch in fluid level. Levels for all tanks can be read on multiple computers throughout the vessel.
Compressed Air System
The system consists of a 1/3 hp compressor with 2.5 gal reserve tank. The system feeds through a wirsbo tube to multiple outlets in the engine room and also to the horn and whistle.
Engine Room Air Intake and Exhaust Systems
Two 5,000 CFM Delta T fans, one port and one starboard. One is driven by a frequency drive to maintain proper air pressure for the machinery.
Steering System
The steering system is an oversized standard hydraulic system with dual pumps and dual solenoid valves. Oversized rams turn two 6 foot tall balance rudders for quiet operation.
Bow and Stern Thruster
One 75 HP Bow Thruster and one 75 HP HP Stern Thruster by Key Power. Controls in the WheelHouse, Flybridge, and on the hand held remote.
Fire Extinguishing System
Stat X aerosol system.
Custom design with solenoid operation.
Custom stand alone PLC control monitors 2 different zones for heat build up.....variable set-point allow for more time to deal with a fire before you discharge your bottles.....EG temp reaches 130 degrees sounds
alarm...temp reaches 140 degrees engines shut down and louvers close....temperature reaches 150 degrees and FM200 is discharged after a 1 minute time delay.
Sound Control
SoundDown vibration pads on all equipment including Main Engines. SoundDown lead/fiberglass panels installed on every engineroom wall and overhead.
Engine Room surfaces all painted and then coated with Mascoat antisweating compound followed by Delta T sound damping compound.
Sounddown sheet lead laid under the carpet in the salon.
You can barely make out the engines running in the pilot house!
Lazarette
The lazarette is aft of the engine room and can be accessed via the engine room or a Pacific Coast Marine water tight door to the aft swim platform. This is the most used door on the boat when the boat is at the
dock and allows easy access to the engine room for heavy materials.
Sea Recovery Water Maker
One Glendening cable master systems
Huge Stainless Steel Toolbox
Storage
Engine Room Work Bench, Tools
There is a 6 foot long stainless steel work bench between the two Main Engines with a large stainless toolbox built in.
The boat is fully populated with every tool you can imagine as well as some specialty custom tools.
