AccommodationsThe Grand Banks 59 Aleutian series has an outstanding layout on deck. A large aft deck features teak decking/bench seating and an ample sized convertible split table. Moving forward via ample sized walk-around decks port and starboard give foul weather protection and provide easy access to engine room, pilot doors, Portuguese bridge and forward deck access.
Aft entrance to main salon is via a centerline double sliding glass door which open to a warm teak interior with "L" shaped sofa/pullout berth to port w ample storage below. A high/low table is just in front of the sofa. Below TV is access to Bose Lifestyle system (radio, stereo, CD, DVD player.) Two barrel chairs are to Starboard with high/low TV and Entertainment center between.Ample window spaces both port and starboard promote "open" feel in Main Salon. Large windows at aft bulkhead glass provide exceptional light/visibility. Midship area has ample book shelves and storage.
A second Engine access is via panel in teak sole
Moving forward the GALLEY and Pilothouse are slightly raised, accessed via 3 steps. Port and starboard pilothouse entrance doors have pull out screens as does the aft centerline door access.
The GALLEY is to portside "U" shaped, very accommodating with an open feel and contiguous with the helm area. An "L" shaped dinette is starboard with ample seating and large folding table. Galley has full compliment of appliances, Subzero refrigerator/freezer drawers, GE speed cook oven, microwave oven, Fisher & Pykel dishwasher, Trash compartment. Transition from helm to dinette is only a few steps.
The HELM deck is bright and spacious providing exceptional visibility to all points. Port and starboard pilot doors make docking worry free. A Stidd Pilots helm seat is center line, optional navigators Stidd seating to port. Cabins access below decks is to starboard via spiral staircase.
Three cabins are provided below deck in this "Standard" layout. Woodworking skill is evident and exceptional throughout. All compartments feature private AC/Heat controls and dimmer switch lighting as well as standard lamps. Opening SS ports are in each cabin. Each shower compartment is vented w DC blowers and sumps have DC pumps.
MASTER suite is mid ship with king sized island berth. Considerable storage is available with Desk,chest of drawers vanity table and bedside table to starboard. Two hanging lockers- port and starboard are cedar lined of course! A private head with large shower stall, sink/ vanity are starboard. SS opening port lights provide light and ventilation and have screens and curtains.This stateroom is a pleasure to the eye and as comfortable/spacious as they get employing vessels full beam. Cabin lighting exudes luxury!
VIP stateroom is forward with a center line berth, storage drawers under berth, two overhead hatches and two opening side port lights. This suite features a large comfortable private cabinet for shower/head and vanity w sink to port. Storage abounds in multiple cabinets/lockers.Hanging lockers are cedar lined.
GUEST stateroom features two single berths to starboard with plenty of hanging storage and a "day head" across hall with shower, sink, vanity and head. A washer/dryer combo is housed behind well crafted doors in this compartment.
Aft compartment of engine room offers multiple uses, employs extra tankage and storage.
