Accommodations
The Salon is on the main deck with walkarounds on each side, and the pilothouse is on the level of the raised foredeck, with twin doors for access. At "half deck" levels are the boat deck above the Salon and the flying bridge atop the pilothouse. Owners stateroom suite is on the main deck.
Lora's Salon is festooned, with makore bulkheads and furniture stained a dark reddish brown, and a beamed ceiling overhead. Detailed raised paneling showcases Northern Marine's craftsmanship with brushed silver scones on the bulkheads. A sitting area is aft, with L-shaped leather sofa, separated from the formal dining room by a center divider. The divider, with two fluted columns, also hold an aft-facing 37' LCD HD 3D TV (2011) with surround sound behind tambour doors. The formal dining area includes handcrafted jatoba wood and is separated from the galley by a breakfast counter with two stools.
The pilothouse is the nerve center of an passage maker, and on Lora it's thoughtfully arranged with a trio of Stidd helm seats behind the instrument panel, a raised settee with table and a ship's office and navigation station out of the way with a flat screen computer and pull down chart stowage in the overhead. Two wing doors provide easy deck access and cross ventilation when needed.
Her flybridge is equipped with a centerline helm with electronic repeaters as well as wing controls on each side for maneuvering. A wet bar and lounge area with table are also here.
Central sea chests handle raw-water intake (with a removable grating) and discharge, and the engine compartment is watertight with twin Freeman dogging doors. An interesting touch is that all the plumbing runs are labeled not just for content, but for direction of flow.
Under way, Lora is designed to offer what you would expect. Her top speed is 11.5 knots, but she is built to cruise comfortably at 10 knots, at long range power settings. She is burning just a gallon a mile from her 5,700 gallon fuel tanks. That should provide a comfortable transoceanic range in all directions.
Galley
Located forward of the salon and dining area, (amidships) is the well equipped full galley. Opposite the galley to starboard is a large pantry area with abundant storage for extended cruising.

Master Stateroom The Master Stateroom fills the area beneath the main deck from the pilothouse to the anchor locker. A centerline king berth faces forward beneath a Craftsman-style mirrored headboard with fluted columns and granite nightstands, and an overhead treatment with makore rope accents gives the effect of a canopy above the bed. Even when tucked in for the night on a long passage, the owner remains informed since the starboard nightstand conceals a Brookes and Gatehouse instrument repeater panel. A flat screen 42' LCD 3D TV (2011) at the foot of the bed is linked to the security cameras.
Forward of the Master Stateroom is the en suite head. A large, glass enclosed shower on the center line , separates the his and hers vanity/sink areas. Forward from the shower is the head area with toilet to starboard and bidet to port.
Guest Accommodations
From the main deck level on the starboard side is the staircase leading to the guest cabins. The number 1 VIP cabin to port has a walk around queen berth with en suite head with a shower stall. Forward of this stateroom, through a water tight door is the "tank room" which houses the larger fuel and water tanks. This area also boasts a tremendous amount of additional storage.
The number 2 VIP cabin has a large double berth and is also fitted with a bunk style single berth for additional guests or children. The single berth for this accommodation is generally stored in the forward tank room when not in use. Across the companion way is a large head with a shower stall.
Next to aft and to port is the crew stateroom with upper and lower single berths. To starboard is the laundry center with upper and lower Bosch washer and dryer along with cabinet storage and stainless sink.
Engine RoomNext aft, is the well organized Engine Room. The ease of access, ample spare parts and an array of tools make this a joy to work in.
If the looks of LORA make a promise of serious passage making, that promise is kept most visibly in the sophisticated and seamanlike engine room. Power is provided by a single 660hp Cummins QSK engine turning just 1800 rpm. For those concerned about single engine cruising, Lora has more than ample backups. There are three Onan generators a 21kw for normal use, a 9kw for night operation and a 27kw for the hydraulic systems.

Lazarette
A water tight door in the aft end of the Engine Room leads to the lazarette which holds the (2) dive compressors, (6) dive tank storage rack and ample additional storage. This also holds the Trace inverter and gives good access to the rudder post and steering gear. For ease of use, there is water tight transom door leading to the swim platform.

Remarks
COMPUTER AND SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS:
LORA features the latest generation computer system (driven by a 12-core server installed) and the newest generation, high speed satellite communication hardware, all installed in 2011. Enhanced Wi-Fi is available throughout the boat and remote access to the boat server computer (running Nobeltec) is provided allowing the owners or crew to remotely monitor LORA's speed and position from any location.
The Refit 2005-2006
LORA was launched in December of 2002 (under the name of ZEUS), and then went back to the yard to install a number of upgrades requested by her first owner. For personal reasons, the first owner took the boat for her first trip (from Anacortes, WA to Alaska) only in the spring of 2004, followed by his second trip (from Anacortes, WA to Cabo, Mexico). The current owner purchased the boat right after that trip in 2005, when she was almost brand new (and renamed her LORA). He is an experienced yachtsman with extensive maritime experience in South Pacific, and he commissioned (at the boat manufacture, Northern Marine) a number of enhancements to better prepare her for ling range, Pacific cruising including: a 5000lb beaver tail, 5-blade propeller, bottom flow rails; a Targa hard top over the flybridge; new on-anchor ("zero-speed") stabilization system; interior rearrangements down below to create a new VIP cabin, and a crew bunk room; a water tight door between the transom and lazarette; new jatoba floors throughout the boat (replacing the usual carpet); redundancy of all systems including the second complete anchoring system with redundant windlass, one more water maker, one more autopilot (with independent hydraulics), a second (4-tank, automated) scuba tank compressor, a third water heater (in-line) reserved for the master cabin only, and a large number of other improvements and enhancements.
Refit (February-May, 2011)
The stabilization system has been upgraded to the latest (rear mount) model. In-depth service and maintenance of all systems has been performed, including all 4 diesel engines, hydraulic systems (including bow and stern thrusters, and the crane), the environmental (a/c) system, water makers, the grey and black water pumps have been replaced. All seacocks and fittings have been replaced. Access panels to all 5 tanks have been opened for inspection and reseated (after upgrading to a double-panel system). All appliances have been replaced (stove/oven, built-in refrigerator, two deep freezers, and more); all entertainment systems have been replaced including the latest generation SONY 3D LCD screens with 3D Blu-ray players in the main salon and the mast cabin. Awlgrip paint has been inspected throughout the boat and replaced (repainted) in every area where it was not perfect (including the waterline, mast, crane, and all flat rails). The vessel computer network and the high speed satellite system have been upgraded to the latest technology. New teak seating arrangements have been added on the aft and bow decks.
Redundancy in all systems and equipment make LORA capable of world cruising in complete comfort and safety. Rarely does a vessel the caliber of LORA become available to the open market. She has always been maintained in Palm Beach condition with no expense spared for upgrades and maintenance. LORA is a "must see" for the yachtsman who is ready to make that "around the world" tri he has long dreamed about.
