22' Glacier Bay 2270 Island Runner Catamaran

"Build us a stylish and functional all weather 22' Cuddy Cat", is the summary of what the 22 pre-construction customers asked of Glacier Bay. The 2270 Island Runner meets and exceeds these dreams. The new computer modeled hull is proportioned perfectly to maintain its ride and handling. The stylish deck design comes through with a host of fishing and storage features. The interior is cavernous with a queen size berth, head area, and loads of storage. Access to the forward deck is easy with an 8" wide deck trail, and 27" tall SS bow rails. All walking areas have a fish-ready molded in non-skid surface. This 22 is likely to spend a lot of time cruising the Islands with very little time worrying about the weather or the fuel bills. The new boat features an all new hull design from the keel up specifically tailored to the needs of a 22 footer, rather than a stretched or chopped hull. The new "patent pending" hull in addition to being scaled properly for 22 feet, features new "tracking pads" on the bottom of each hull to enhance banking in the turns and straighter large swell tracking. The tunnel top surfaces have also been reshaped for more stiffness and a smoother ride. Additionally, the bow sections of the top chine have been reshaped to increase lift and bob in a tight, steep chop. The combination of these enhancements on the proven high-speed displacement hull design of Glacier Bay provides a truly spectacular smooth-dry-stable ride. The aft deck is huge with room to fish or pull out the deck chairs. It's also crowned to speed clean up and includes two huge overboard scuppers. For your rods, Glacier Bay provides 4 deluxe chrome bronze Lee Rod holders and 4 rod storage racks under the gunwale, combined with the four racks in the cabin, you have storage for 12 rods. The cockpit coamings are padded with closed cell foam (removable) bolsters installed at just the right height to allow a safe deck in heavy seas, but not so tall as to get in your way while fishing.
