Manufacturer Provided DescriptionLaid on the keel by experienced builders and designers, the Bavaria 47 is built and fitted out with the best components in order to meet the demanding expectations of passionate sailors. She is thought through to the smallest detail, functional in her handling. Naturally, a first-class yacht has expensive fittings and well thought-out detail solutions. Many components are made-to-measure at the yard, or manufactured to highest precision by carefully selected suppliers. This build quality guarantees high residual value. The interior finish of this yacht is on a level which has up to now been reserved for the most expensive yachts. Additionally, considerable design consideration is given to the safety aspect. The interior fittings consist of rich solid mahogany and beautifully laminated solid curves into the back of which hand holds have been integrated. The construction at crucial points is beyond the regulations by Lloyds. This increases safety at sea, increases the stability of value and makes living on board more comfortable. Sandwich laminate technology such as that used in the aircraft industry and on ice-breaking boats is used in the above-water hull and in the deck. The sandwich layer is of water-repellent closed-cell foam to increase the dent-resistance of the shell. Its low heat conductivity prevents condensation and makes the interior climate more pleasant. Kevlar fabric, the material of which bullet-proof jackets are made, is worked into the forebody below the waterline to protect against collision. The doubled laminate thickness of the keel flange triples the safety factor in case of impact. The floor timber is reinforced by stiff S-glass layers. The laminate is watertight and prevents osmosis.
Brokers CommentsThis German built vessel is capable of crossing oceans but is also Inter-Coastal capable with her 62 foot mast height and 5.7 foot draft. She is a two Owner boat that has been remarkably well maintained. And unlike the many of the Bavarias, she does not have the sail drive. She has the traditional straight shaft and 3 bladed prop.
An Insurance Survey in May 2014 put the value at $200,000 and as most people know the value of boats have been going up on the East Coast, not down.
