How often do truly new and innovative designs emerge in the world of cruising sailboats? Of course, builders make small variations on the main industry theme, but not often is there a new concept. Maine designer, Chuck Paine, has accomplished this. He has pushed the fast performance requirements of Cabo Rico yachts even further without compromising our firm commitment to cruising yachts that are safe and comfortable in all conditions, yet swift and easy to handle at sea.
The 40 is a blend of traditional elements, with the latest thinking and computerized design techniques. The underbody has broken new ground in yacht design.
Under sail she was awesome. Light, responsive, enthusiastic and fast. She handled like a racy fin keeler....until the wind and waves built up. In 6 to 8 foot seas and 25-30 knots of wind, she had the feel, motion and stability of her larger sister, the CR45. Quite a feat for a boat 8,500 lbs lighter.
When you go below on this yacht you find a sensible sea-going interior with two private staterooms, good navigation station and many thoughtful features, including a special dish drying rack in the large galley.
Classic beauty, quality craftsmanship, and innovative design make this new Cabo Rico the perfect modern cruising yacht.
