Accommodations

A very bright and airy boat with accommodations for up to four people in a varnished light oak interior.  Natural light and ventilation via a hatch forward and fixed and opening windows surrounding the galley and dinette area.  12 Volt lighting throughout.  Starting forward is the V-berth with storage under and shelf above. 

Next aft to port is the Galley with laminate counter deep single basin stainless steel sink, dual voltage Norcold refrigerator freezer, two-burner Kenyon electric/alcohol stove. 

Opposite to starboard is the Lower Helm Station with seat and full vessel controls, followed by the fore and aft facing bench seats with storage under and dinette table. This can be made down into a double berth when occasion warrants.

Opposite to port is the enclosed Head featuring vanity with sink, ensuite shower draining to a separate sump, electric Jabsco head plumbed to the holding tank.

From design reviews:  With over 2,800 built, the Bertram Mark III Flybridge Cruiser remains the best selling Bertram ever.  She has a reputation among serious anglers as a rugged and durable offshore fisherman with comfortable cabin accommodations for a family.  She rides on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull and her 11' beam is wide and offers excellent stability for 28'.  Below decks the cabin layout includes berths for four with a convertible dinette, efficient galley, stand up head, and plenty of storage.  Superior workmanship and constant refinements kept the Bertram 28 in the forefront.

The Bertram 28s are an excellent platform as a moderately priced day boat with some cruising capabilities as well as fishing platform.  These have become a bit of a cult boat and are very popular; given her Yanmar repower and attractive pricing, she is an excellent offering.

The vessel was surveyed for a prospective buyer in September 2013 and 2 principal defects were noted.  Both turbo chargers had siezed and there is an area forward of the hatch on the foredeck to the bow that has high moisture level and some de-lamination.  The yard at which the survey was done provided a verbal estaimate, after examinng these items, of $5,000 to remove and re-build the turbo chargers and $8,000 to repair the foredeck.  Given the then asking price of $58,000 and the contract basis of $52,500 we feel that an aksing price of $39,000 is very favorable to the next buyer and should produce a timely sale. As the owner was retiring from boating and selling his summer home in Maine he chose to donate the vessel to a non-profit versus continuing to try and sell her and deal with the attendant holding costs.

 We are sorry but we do not have a copy of the survey but the prior buyer who had it done is willing to sell his survey for $450.

She is offered at an attrative asking price which should produce a timely sale.
